Race 1: StocklickTrading & Cousins Ice Class 4 Handicap- 1000 metres
1st DRAGONISI 2nd A KNOWN FACT 3rd CAFFE DI CLANG 4th SMART OPINION.
Trainer Mr F. Wieland was fined the sum of $50 for the late notification of rider for SIMONE’S GOT CLASS (LR70).
As the start was to be effected SIMONE’S GOT CLASS (S Kaya), broke through the front of the barriers, which sprung all of the barrier gates. In this incident LUCKY RULER (F Edwards) and SIMONE’S GOT CLASS galloped a full circuit of the track riderless. Subsequently, Stewards ordered that LUCKY RULER, POWER LINES and SIMONE’S GOT CLASS all be declared late withdrawals at 1.37pm, acting on veterinary advice. Prior to the declaration of correct weight, Stewards ordered that all monies invested on these runners be refunded, and all bets made with bookmakers be paid less the following deductions: 24 cents in the dollar win and 24 cents the place.
All runners were inspected by the Club's Veterinarian prior to being reloaded and passed to start. .
Race 2:Parry Nissan& Landmark MaidenPlate - 1200 metres
1st –POSITIVE THINKING 2nd -TAUNUS 3rd –JESSE GIRL 4th – DIAMOND PROHPET
Trainer Mr W. Massingham was fined the sum of $200 under the provisions of AR114 for failing to withdraw GOALATTACK by the prescribed time.
As no other suitable rider was available, Stewards permitted Jockey K. Rocket to ride MUSQUITO half a kilogram over its allotted weight. Jockey K. Rockett was fined the sum of $50 under AR120(b) for being overweight.
MUSQUITO (K. Rockett) bucked shortly after the start, & took no further part in the race. Trainer G. Doolan and Jockey Rockett were of the opinion the saddle may have pinched the horse, causing it to buck.
Race 3:Kidner Contracting & Piccone IGA Class B Handicap - 1350 metres
1st –BOLD BARASSI 2nd –MON CHOIX 3rd –BAR BENDER 4th – DREAM WARRIOR
DREAM WARRIOR (P Cullen) over raced between the 1000 & 800 metres.
Race 4: Tirrabella Cashmere Cup Open Handicap – 1350 metres
1st – NOTHIN’ BUT A DANE 2nd – FACE THE ACTION 3rd – LOVAN 4th – VACILLATOR
As no other suitable rider was available, Stewards permitted Jockey G. Kliese to ride FACE THE ACTION half a kilogram over its allotted weight. Jockey G. Kliese was fined the sum of $50 under AR120(b) for being overweight..
