The start of this race was delayed due to a accident on the highway to the racecourse.

Trainer G. Duncan was advised that a warning would be placed on the barrier manners of COLUMBIA QUEEN.
Race 3: Kidner Contracting/ Piccone IGA Class 3 Handicap 1200 - m
1st – The Cat’s Back 2nd –Global Spin 3rd –General Spin 4th – Roadster
Correct weight was delayed to allow Jockey K. Rockett and trainer Mrs T. Crossland to view the official patrol films in relation to ROADSTER being denied a fair start. After viewing the film both K. Rockett and Mrs. Crossland were both satisfied that after viewing the film correct weight was declared.
Shortly after the start, ROADSTER raced ungenerously for some distance. Trainer Mrs T. Crossland was advised that a warning would be placed on the racing manners of ROADSTER.
Race 4: Camp Holders Class 1 Handicap 1350 - m
1st –Lansell 2nd –Chigwell 3rd –Teviot Wish 4th – Beautiful Havana
D. Crossland reported that TEVIOT WISH was inclined to hang in down the straight.
Race 5: Tirrabella Cashmere Mount Garnet Cup Open Handicap 1350 - m
1st -Khataaf 2nd –Magnum Forty Four 3rd –Master Hugh 4th – Hobson’s Choice
SHE MAKES ME BUSY which was fractious in the barriers was declared a late withdrawal at 3.50pm. On the announcement of Correct weight Stewards ordered that all monies invested on SHE MAKES ME BUSY be refunded in full with all successful bets be less the deductions of 12c in the dollar on the face value of win ticket and 11c in the face value of the place ticket.
