Race 1: MORANBAH RC HANDICAP (CLASS B) 1000 Metres.
(7 Starters),
1st - RUSHATUS 2nd - ROCKETMOUNTAINHIGH 3rd - CICERAO 4th - EXPLOSIVE STAR.

Apprentice J. King was unable to claim any of his 2kg apprentice allowance on MAI MAIBE. He was fined One Hundred Dollars ($100.00). AR 92(12).

At the start MAI MAIBE (Apprentice J. King) shifted in and contacted with EARWIGG (Apprentice Ms B. Floyd). Apprentice Floyd advised EARWIGG raced wide rounding the home turn and did not handle the track conditions.

Jockey Ms T. Bannon advised EXPLOSIVE STAR was disappointing and apart from racing wide rounding the home turn, could offer no reason for the disappointing performance. .

Race 2: MORANBAH COMMUNITY WORKERS CLUB MAIDEN PLATE. 1000 Metres. (6 Starters).
1st - ROCKET ON CONNIE 2nd - LKUISS AND CONTROL 3rd - COUNTRYWIDE 4th - COURT ACTION

COUNTRYWIDE (Apprentice J. King) , was slow to begin and raced wide throughout.


SAMARA ROCKET (J. Babarovich) and COURT ACTION (D. Simmons) made contacted on jumping.

Post-race veterinary examination of ROCKET ON CONNIE found the filly to have bled from both nostrils. As this was the second bleeding attack suffered by this filly she is now ineligible to race again. (Vide AR 53A(5). R.S.C. Veterinary Incident Report No. 28355 refers.


Race 3: MORANBAH RC HANDICAP. (CLASS 2). 1170 Metres. (4 Starters).
1st - HUSSON’S fORTUNE 2nd - WILLYWYNA 3rd - WALLARINGA 4th - BAROQUE STAR


BAROQUE STAR ((R. Hancock) was slow to go.

Race 4: CFMEU BENCHMARK 70. 1170 Metres. (4 Starters).
1st - FASTER BUSTEER 2nd – MONCHING 3rd - ZEEYAJIMI 4th - PERFECT HUSSEY

Stewards accepted the explanation tendered by trainer Ms N King for the withdrawal of SNAGAPOT as the gelding was lame in the near fore leg. Ms King was advised the gelding would require a veterinary certificate of fitness before being permitted to start again.

PERFECT HUSSEY (J. Babarovich) jumped outwards and made contact ZEEYAJIMI (R. Hancock) taking that runner wider on the track.

PERFECT HUSSEY raced wide throughout.

Race 5: ISAAC REGIONAL COUNCIL CUP BENCHMARK 60. 1550 Metres. (5 Starters).
1st - FOREVER MORE 2nd - SWAGS 3rd - BALBOA STAR 4th - ROCKBEL.

Balboa star (J. Babarovich) raced wide in the early and middle stages.

SWAGS (R. Hancock) was slow to begin..

Apprentice Ms B. Floyd was questioned as to the disappointing performance of ROCKBEL. Apprentice Floyd advised the gelding drew the outside barrier and carried 63.5kgs including her allowance. The track by this time was very heavy and ROCKBEL was slowly away and forced to race wide throughout, at no time did ROCKBEL handle the track conditions and had not raced on the dirt previously. Stewards noted the explanation.

Jockey Ms T. Bannon advised COMMANDING SPUR did not handle the heavy track conditions.

GENERAL.

Inclement weather conditions affected the track on the morning of the meeting, however, by the time of the first race and after considerable effort, the track was fit to race on. The final two races were brought forward owing to rain again falling.
