SUPPLEMENTARY REPORTS:

Stewards today concluded their enquiries regarding the training of UPTOWN ROCK. After obtaining records from trainer B. Tattam and gaining further evidence from owner Mr B. Nolan, stewards took the matter no further. Stewards furthermore conducted a follow up inspection of trainer B. Tattam’s stables and were satisfied with the condition of those stables.

The Start of Race One was delayed due to the late arrival to the course by Trainers Mr John Hearn DOM PAOLO and Mr James Curtain AMBER ALE. Stewards spoke with both Trainers in relation to this matter and accepted their explanation for their delay to the course. Stewards took no further action in relation to this matter.

Prior to the running of Race One Stewards requested a veterinary examination be performed on DOM PAOLO. The horse was passed fit to start.

Race 1- MARANOA DIGGERS VOLUNTEERS BENCHMARK 70 HANDICAP 800M.

DOM PAOLO (L. Appo) broke through the barrier gates prior to the start but was pulled up by the rider and took its place in the field.

DOM PAOLO jumped out at the start.

SHEZA ROUGHIE (Appr. I French) was slow to begin.

EFFUSION (Appr. L. Tilley) stood flat footed as he gates opened and lost ground.

At approximately the 500M the rider of SHEZA ROUGHIE Apprentice Jockey Ian French was dislodged from the horse. The rider was examined by the Ambulance staff and later conveyed to Hospital for further examination. Apprentice Jockey French was stood down for the remainder of the program. See Summary of rider changes for further information. Stewards opened and subsequently adjourned an inquiry into the incident to a date and time to be fixed.

SARSGHI (Appr M. McGillivray) rolled out over the final stages resulting in PLATTERS (Ms R. Kerwin) being inconvenienced.

Race 2- SAMIOS TRADING POST BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1000M

YOUSHAKA (Appr Ms J. Brand) jumped in at the start. YOUSHAKA then travelled wide through the middle stages of the event and drifted out over the final stages.

MUTINY (Appr L.Tilley) rolled out and made contact with JUNCTION SPUR (L. Appo) shortly after the winning post.

Race 3- WARATAH FENCING LANDMARK/TILLYS BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1200M

Ms R. Kerwin reported to Stewards that the saddle on KOHZAIM slipped at the 1000m point.

ZIPOLITE (Appr. L. Tilley) and La CLOISONNE (W. Doyle) travelled very wide in the early stages.

OH SO CLOSE (Appr. M. McGillivray) made contact with the near side barrier on jumping resulting in the horse losing ground.

BRADY N ME (L.Appo) rolled out marginally over the final stages.

Stewards spoke with Apprentice Jockey L. Tilley regarding the performance of ZIPOLITE. He stated the performance of the gelding may have looked disappointing over the final stages however he stated the horse was forced to race wide for the majority of the race which was to its detriment.

Race 4- RAY WHITE RURAL ROMA QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 1200M

SPIRIT BEAT (Appr. M.McGillivary) was slow into stride.

Race 5- BOORINGA CUP OPEN HANDICAP 1400M.

JACK N ME (L. Appo) shifted out at the start making contact with PREACHER BOY (Ms R. Kerwin) which resulted in TEAM THUNDERSTONE (W. Doyle) being tightened for room between PREACHER BOY and DON’T WALK AWAY (B. Powell).

PREACHER BOY was not suited to the early speed and drifted back. DON’T WALK AWAY shift out marginally entering the 1200M turn.

PREACHER BOY while improving clipped the heels of SHAKES (Appr. L. Tilley).
