RACE 1 -.BOOMERANG CLASS 6 HANDICAP – 1050M
Lightfoot Tango threw its head in the air as the gates opened and was slowly away. Approaching the 800m El Boat commenced to overrace when the paced was slowed by Mr Daniels and in doing so has pulled up onto the heels of Mr Daniels and forced to move over that geldings heels. A short distance later Mr Daniels raced ungenerously for a few strides when El Boat rolled in momentarily. Lightfoot Tango was held up for clear running over the concluding stages when El Boat shifted out under pressure.
RACE 2 –XXXX CLASS 1 HANDICAP – 1050M
Mighty Free dipped as the gates opened and lost ground and then raced wide throughout the event.Trainer J.Manzelmann reported Mighty Free pulled up sore and a veterinary inspection was ordered which revealed swelling in both front knees. A further veterinary inspection will be performed during the week.
RACE 3 –TOOHEYS MAIDEN HANDICAP – 1050M
Head of the Creek was difficult to load into the barriers. A warning was placed on the horse .Star Raws was slowly away. Approaching the 200m Machita has moved in to obtain a run to the inside of Mr Dooley which then commenced to hang in under pressure forcing D.Lloyd ( Machita ) to again alter course to the outside to obtain a clear run to the line .
RACE 4 -.TF WOOLHAM CLASS 4 HANDICAP – 1250M
Stymie was slowly away.Approaching the 800m Ourimbah which was pulling hard has eased off the heels of Stollikknaya.
RACE 5 -BUNDABERG RUM OPEN HANDICAP – 1500M
Down Payment was slow to begin. Approaching the 600m. Mono Blue has eased off the heels off Sir Dalma and at a subsequent inquiry apprentice jockey H. Watanabe ( Mono Blue ) explained that his horse pulled hard up to the inside of Sir Dalma which was racing about half a horse off the fence however there was insufficient room to to take a run and he has eased back hoping to obtain a run around Sir Dalma . Jockey R.Mules ( Willy Worry ) which was racing to the outside of Mono Blue explained that he held his ground and did not permit Mono Blue to move to the outside. There was not evidence that either Bennies lane ( J.Felix ) or Sir Dalma ( D.Lloyd ) had shifted any ground in this incident. Mono Blue was held up for clear running over the final 150m. An inquiry was opened into the reasons why trainer W.Pomfrett inadvertently presented the incorrect horse in the saddling enclosure for the race. After hearing evidence stewards adjourned the inquiry until 19October2001.
RACE 6 –.HOT FM CLASS 2 HANDICAP 1500M
Full on Jacks was slow to begin. Approaching the 150m Century Sunset ( D.Lloyd ) commenced to lay in under pressure forcing the rider to stop riding and straighten his mount.
