WEATHER - Fine TRACK – Heavy
RAIL – True position.
Race 1 XXXX Class 1 Hcp 1500m 10 Strs.
D.Jones was permitted to ride Apprentice 1.5kgs overweight due to a lack of
riders.
APPRENTICE was slow away.
MR. ROCKET jumped away awkwardly.
Near the 150m LET’S RAW shifted out and inconvenienced MYSTICAL.
When questioned over the performance of MR ROCKET Jockey B.Appo stated that
the gelding failed to handle the heavy going and was under pressure a long
way from home. A subsequent vet examination failed to reveal any
abnormalities.
Race 2 Boomerang Hotel/Motel Maiden Hcp 1250m 9 Strs.
Jockey D.Jones was permitted to ride Propellor 1.5kgs overweight to to a
lack of riders.
SECRET ROAD jumped awkwardly.
Soon after the start BELLA’S HIGHLIGHT shifted out and inconvenienced HIGH
LADY, STEAL SANCTION and PROPELLOR.
When questioned over the performance of WILD IRISH FLOWER Apprentice
L.Attard stated that the mare slipped near the 700m and failed to stretch
out for the remainder of the event. He also stated that the mare didn’t
appear to be breathing properly. Trainer H.Harvison stated that the mare has
previous good wet track form but has suffered from a soft palate which leads
to a breathing problem. Previous scoping of the mare hasn’t revealed any
other abnormalities. Mrs Harvison will recommend to the owners that the mare
be retired. A subsequent vet examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Race 3 T F Woolam Open Hcp 1250m 3 Strs.
NATHAN’S PLEASURE jumped awkwardly.
Race 4 Shakespeare International Class 2 Hcp 1250m 9 Strs.
Jockey D.Jones was reprimanded for accepting the ride on SLOW COAT for which
he was overweight. D.Jones was permitted to ride SLOW COAT 1kg overweight
due to the lack of riders.
RAWING TRADE was inclined to lay in under pressure over the concluding
stages.
Jockey A.Cox reported that NOTORIOUS LADY failed to handle the heavy going.
Jockey J.Felix reported that WHAT A PEARLER which was having its first run
after a spell failed to handle the heavy going and was under pressure a long
way from home. A subsequent vet examination revealed no abnormalities other
than the gelding seemed to be a little underdone.
Race 5 Hahn Lite Class 6 Hcp 1050m 4 Strs.
TENERANI jumped awkwardly.
Race 6 Tooheys New Class 4 Hcp 1050m 8 Strs.
BABY SPICE & BRETNIC made contact at the start.
Soon after start TANGO PRINCE had to be steadied when tightened for room
between TRULY TRICKY & DEVIL’S WALK which shifted in.
Soon after the start BRETNIC had to be steadied when tightened for room
between BABY SPICE & MISS THREDBO both of which shifted ground.
Over the concluding stages DARK SCOUT shifted in and inconvenienced MISS
THREDBO.
When questioned over the performance of TANGO PRINCE Jockey D.Cash stated
that the gelding was unable to hold its position when it failed to muster
any early speed. He also stated that TANGO PRINCE failed to handle the heavy
going.
All winners were sent to be swabbed.
