METRES TO WINNING POST
RACE 1: QTIS CLASS 4 HANDICAP - 1250 METRES
Trainer W. Pomfrett was reprimanded for failing to declare W. Binder as the rider of LAWSOME by the prescribed time (LR.70).
At the start INTEGRA ROYAL jumped outwards and bumped LET'S GO RAW.
Jockey D. Simmons said that shortly after the start the saddle shifted on NORTHERN WATCH, placing him at a disadvantage. When struck with the whip near the 75 metres NORTHERN WATCH shifted out abruptly.
D. Lloyd, the rider of MISTER BENGAL, reported that over the concluding stages the gelding hung out across the heels of MAJOR THOMSON and was reluctant to take a narrow run between that horse and INTEGRA ROYAL.
RACE 2: MAIDEN HANDICAP - 1050 METRES
At the 800 metres TIGER HERO was crowded for room by RHUBARB RED, which initially shifted in and away from TIDEMARK and then a short distance later TIGER HERO shifted in marginally and hampered KINKA STAR.
RACE 3: OPEN HANDICAP - 1500 METRES
R. Mules, the declared rider for THE TANK, reported that after riding TIDEMARK in Race 2, he was experiencing pain in his neck and shoulder region. D. Simmons was substituted as the rider of THE TANK. The following substitutions for R. Mules were also made: Race 4, D. Lloyd on SPECTACULAR SKY; Race 5, D. Lloyd on YA WAHEED. R. Mules will be required to furnish a medical clearance before being permitted to ride again.
RAPID CITY and MONO BLUE were slow to begin.
THE TANK compounded quickly over the concluding stages and was found to have broken down badly in the off foreleg.
RACE 4: CLASS 1 HANDICAP - 1500 METRES
As M. Young was indisposed, J. Cairns was substituted as the rider of FULL ON JACKS in this race and NEED A DOLLAR in Race 5. M. Young will be required to furnish a medical certificate verifying his illness.
There were no racing incidents.
RACE 5: CLASS 4 HANDICAP - 1500 METRES
NORTHERN WATCH, which competed in Race 1, was examined by the Club veterinary surgeon and passed fit to start.
KAJNO and OFFICER bumped on jumping.
ALL WINNERS WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED.
