SUPPLEMENTARY REPORTS:
As apprentice P Edwards was indisposed, she replaced as per stewards summary sheet.
P Hammersley, advised stewards at 9.27am that due to transport difficulties he was unable to fulfil his riding engagements at today’s meetings; he was replaced as per steward’s summary sheet. Stewards advised P Hammersley an inquiry would be adjourned to a date and time to fixed.
Race 1: XXXX GOLD CLASS 3 H’CAP – 1050M.
1st –KING CASH 2nd – BECQUEREL 3rd – CASTILLE 4th – MATRIX
CASTILLE ( D Evans ) was slow to begin.
SRIETTE ( D Craven ) raced wide throughout the race.
KING CASH ( App R Plumb ) had a tendency to over race in the early stages.
Race 2: WIN TELEVISION CLASS 5 H’CAP – 1500M.
1st – ARENACEOUS 2nd – CHABBAZ 3rd – CORRIENTE 4th – LION KINGDOM
CHABBAZ (M Cant) began awkwardly and shifted in causing its rider to make contact with his right knee on the barrier partition. M Cant was examined by the clubs ambulance officers and passed fit for his remaining engagements.
LINK HOGTHROB (S Watkins) commenced to over race for a short distance after the start.
Rounding the home LINK HOGTHROB (S Watkin) raced in restricted room for a short distance between ARENACEOUS (D Craven) which shifted out slightly to obtain clear running and CORRIENTE (D Evans). A short distance later LINK HOGTHROB had to be restrained when tightened for room between ARENACEOUS (D Craven), which shifted out under pressure
and CORRIENTE (D Evans) which shifted in under pressure. Both D Craven, the rider of ARENACEOUS, and D Evans, the rider of CORRIENTE were severely reprimanded and advised to make a greater effort to keep there mounts straight in similar circumstances.
Near the 200m, AMALFI’S REVENGE (App R Plumb) shifted out under pressure, dictating the line of CHABAZZ (M Cant) which inturn shifted out tightening LION KINGDOM (M Usher) onto
ARENACEOUS (D Craven) which shifted out brushing CORRIENTE (D Evans). R Plumb, the rider of AMALFI’S REVENGE was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground.
Leaving the 50m, ARENACEOUS (D Craven) shifted out bumping CORRIENTE (D Evans).
Race 3: XXXX GOLD CLASS 4 H’CAP – 1250M.
1st – ABOVE THE HORIZON 2nd – SHOVE OVER 3rd – LOS ALTOS 4th – HEARD A WHISPER
KINGLINESS was declared a late scratching at 10.47am by order of stewards acting on veterinary advice.
SHOVE OVER (M Usher) which was slow to begin was then held up for clear running approaching the 600m until near the 200m.
HORSEGAURDS (App T Bannon) raced wide throughout the race.
M Usher, the rider of SHOVE OVER, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding in that near the 50m he permitted his mount to shift out when not clear of HEARD A WHISPER (App R Plumb) which had to be checked when tightened onto LOS ALTO (M Cant) which had to be steadied and shift out. M Usher’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of three (Capricornia and North Qld) meetings combined to commence at midnight, Tuesday 5th September 2006, and to expire at midnight, Friday 15th September 2006.
LOS ALTO (M Cant) became unbalanced and shifted in bumping HEARD A WHISPER (App R Plumb) shortly after passing the winning post.
Race 4: 4MK FM MAIDEN H’CAP – 1250M.
1st – CONDAMINE BEAUTY 2nd – KICK 3rd – KAAPERINA 4th – I’M FABULOUS
Trainer R Barone was fined the sum of $100.00 for failing to have the stable return for FLIT THROUGH completed. R Barone was further advised FLIT THROUGH was not to race again until the correct ownership was in place.
The start was delayed when LADY SHABANG (J Stephens) proved difficult to load. A Stephens, the trainer of LADY SHABANG was advised a warning would be placed on that mares barrier manners.
KAAPERINA (S Watkin) jumped in at the start making contact with I’M FABULOUS (App T Bannon) and as result became unbalanced and shifted out tightening MAGICLANG (App L Dillon) and TRUCCO (D Craven) out onto FLIT THROUGH (App R Plumb).
D Green, the rider of MY CORVETT, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding in that near the 1100m he permitted his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of I’M FABULOUS (App t Bannon) which was taken in onto ONALAR (D Evans) which had to be checked and lose its position. KICK (M Usher)which was following was inconvenienced and lost ground as a result. D Greens licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of six (SEQ, Capricornia and North Qld) meetings combined to commence at midnight, Saturday 9th September 2006, and to expire at midnight, Saturday 16th September 2006. Stewards took into account D Greens recent good riding record in considering penalty.
Both I’M FABULOUS (App T Bannon) and ONALAR (D Evans) were held up for clear running leaving the 500m until near the 200m. T Bannon was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground.
D Evans, the rider of ONALAR, was found guilty to a charge of careless riding in that near the 200m, after being initially taken out by I’M FABULOUS (App T Bannon), he then directed his mount out when not clear of LADY SHABANG (J Stephens) which had to be checked, and shift out making contact with TAKE THE HINT (App A Coome) which became unbalanced. D Evans licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of four (Capricornia and North Qld) combined meetings to take place at the expiry of a previous careless riding charge which commences at midnight Tuesday 5th September 2006, up to and including Saturday 16th September 2006, then from midnight Saturday 16th September 2006, up to and including Tuesday 26th September 2006.
Both MAGICLANG (App L Dillon) and SHINING DARKNESS (M Dale) raced wide throughout the event.
I’M FABULOUS lost its near hind plate during the race.
Race 5: DAILY MERCURY QTIS CLASS 1 H’CAP – 1250M.
1st – TEA MOSS 2nd – CITI WALTZ 3rd – YOUDIDNTSEEME 4th – SPRINGSURE ROAD
YOUDIDNTSEEME (App L Dillon) was slow to begin.
BRAVEHEART (M Cant) and OUR OLIVER YING (App R Plumb) made contact at the start when both horses shifted ground.
BOSS OF THE BOSS (D Green) raced wide throughout the race.
Race 6: T.F WOOLAM & SON OPEN H’CAP – 1250M.
1st – TRANSACT 2nd – ROSIELEE MISS 3rd – TENZERO & BIG DAVE (DH)
Both CAMBOOYA (App A Coome) and RAHERA (App R Plumb) raced wide throughout the event.
A post race veterinary examination of DAMASCUS CALLING (D Craven) which was tailed off failed to reveal any abnormalities.
Race 7: MCGUIRES HOTEL CLASS 2 H’CAP – 1500M.
1st – NOAH’S REQUEST 2nd – MR ROMAMELLI 3rd – MY CHARLIE 4th – BROWNS PLAINS
On jumping away MR ROMANEELI (M Cant) and LITTLE LEGEND (M Usher) bumped on two occasions when both horses shifted ground resulting in LITTLE LEGEND becoming unbalanced and shifting out abruptly.
After beginning awkwardly RUNPHIR (S Watkin) shifted in making contact with NOAH’S REQUEST (App T Bannon) and then shifted out abruptly making contact with MOSTA HOUSE (D Evans) which was forced out becoming awkward on the heels of TENZERO (J Stephens) which shifted in slightly and as a result had to be steadied.
BROWNS PLAINS (D Craven) commenced to over race and threw its head in the air leaving the 1400m for a short distance.
Near the 500m BROWNS PLAINS (D Craven) became awkward on the heels of MIDDLE EAST (W Binder) and had to be steadied and shift out.
MOSTA HOUSE (D Evans) had to be momentarily steadied off the heels of LITTLE LEGEND (M Usher) which shifted out slightly near the 300m.
Stewards adjourned an inquiry to a date and time to fixed into a complaint by jockey D Evans against jockey S Watkin.
