Race 1: Wes Mackay Class 3 Plate - 1050 metres
Apprentice M Powell was reprimanded under AR 92(12) for failing to claim down to his riding weight.
Lasting Image – Began awkwardly and was slow away.
Race 2: Mark Kelly Property BM 60 Handicap - 1200 metres
Delay to correct weight to allow Jockey Abe to view the patrol films in relation to the start. After viewing the films Jockey Abe was satisfied that he had received a fair start and correct weight was declared.
Simon Bon Rocket – Began awkwardly.
Benny’s Halo – Was slow away, then over-raced in the early and middle stages.
Real Dreams – Had to be steadied over the concluding stages when crowded for room by another runner.
Race 3: DGH Engineering BM 60 Handicap - 1560 metres
Stewards permitted M Cullen to be substituted as the rider Euphonium.
Twice the Price – Was tightened for room shortly after a start due to another runner shifting out.
Poussin – Shortly after the start lay out tightening another runner, approaching the 1300m refused to settle and got its head up and improved onto the heels of another runner.
San Raymond – Over-raced in the early stages.
Our Hussler – Jockey reported that the gelding felt sore upon returning to scale. A Veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be sensitive to touch around the near fore cannon bone ligaments.
Race 4: - Ginger’s Coolroom Hire Class 6 Plate – 1300 metres
Stewards permitted M Cullen to be substituted as the rider A Fine Drop of Red.
Nediym’s Quest – Over-raced in the early stages, was inclined to lay out rounding the home turn and was inclined to lay in over the concluding stages.
Cloud Dancer – Began awkwardly.
Race 5: Auto Corner Maiden Handicap - 1100 metres
Sorrentino was declared a late scratching at 4.24pm when it crashed through the running rail whilst being led onto the track. A Veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be suffering superficial cuts. Trainer J Manzelmann was advised that the gelding must obtain an Official Barrier Trial certificate prior to racing again. Subsequently they ordered that all bets made on SORRENTINO be refunded in full and that the following deductions apply to bets made prior to 4.24 p.m. 25c Win and 18c place.
Shiver Me Whiskers – Began awkwardly and was slow away.
Seabeau – Raced wide throughout.
Miss Flying Spur – Jockey reported that the filly felt sore. A veterinary examination revealed the filly to be suffering acute respiratory distress and stiff in all four limbs and was treated on course. Trainer J Manzelmann was advised the filly must obtain a veterinary certificate and pass an endoscope prior to the filly’s next start.
