As G Porter and M Seagren were to be overweight, the following riding replacements were approved:

Race 1 MY ABERLEEN K Brady
Race 2 ANOTHER BLETCH S Roos
Race 2 TRES RED K Brady

M Seagren was fined the sum of $100 and G Porter was fined the sum of $50.


RACE 1: TAFFY’S BACKHOE HIRE MAIDEN H’CAP – 1010M

Due to no available rider in the Jockey room, Stewards permitted G Porter to ride BRUNETTE LAD 1kg over.

MARETO MARY jumped in the air at the start losing ground.

MR. HATTA was inclined to lay in at the 800m.

BRUNETTE LAD hung out entire of race and over concluding stages hung out making contact with MARETO MARY.

RACE 2: MAREEBA METAL MERCHANTS CLASS 2 H’CAP – 1210M

No racing incidents.

RACE 3:KEN ROOS CLASS 4 H’CAP - 1010M

No racing incidents.

RACE 4: CLASS 6 PLATE – 1500M

Leaving the 1200m EARLY BRIGHT had to be steadied to avoid the heels of BUNBURRA BOBBY, which shifted in marginally.

RACE 5: WEIGHT FOR AGE H’CAP 1010M

SEARCHLIGHT returned to the enclosure with lacerations to the off shoulder.

J Lewis was reprimanded for allowing his mount to shift in approaching the 400m, resulting in SEARCHLIGHT being steadied to avoid his heels.

WILDIE was held up for clear running at the 200m.


After being briefly held up passing the 100m WILDIE made contact with INVESTITURE when shifting out to obtain clear running.
