Trainer J Morris was fined $50 for late declaration of rider (HYMNAL).
Trainer D Sanderson was fined $50 for late declaration of rider (DAWNS DANCER)

Stewards permitted App C Pay to ride HYMNAL 1.5kgs overweight, due to no other rider being able to ride closer to or at the allotted weight.

Trainer J Morris was advised to present a veterinary certificate prior to next race start. Prior to the announcement of correct weight, Stewards ordered that all monies invested on HYMNAL be refunded, and that all bets made with bookmakers be paid less the following deductions; 19 cents in the dollar win and 20 cents the place.

DAWNS DANCER (T Brummell) knuckled on jumping away, shortly after making contact with JACDOOLAN (App. J Rudd)

COBBRA STREET (D Jones) was slow in stride, raced wide for the majority and on entering the straight, commenced to lay in under pressure, placing the rider at a disadvantage in riding his mount out.

Race 2: SAMIOS PLUMBING SUPPLIES QTIS CLASS 3 PLATE 1200m
1st – HAMINGJA 2nd – CRPYT 3rd – PARTY CHARTER 4th- TRUE DIEHARD

HAMINGJA (T Brummell) jumped in at the start, inconveniencing PARTY CHARTER (D Ballard) and EYE MAX (D Jones). At approximately the 1000m, HAMINGJA commenced to hang in, despite the efforts of its rider, bumping FINAL SCORE (App J Rudd), which then become unbalanced. Jockey T Brummell reported his mount was inclined to hang in for the majority of the race.

In the early stages QUICKLY (A Spradau) commenced to get its head up and raced erratically. When questioned, Jockey Spradau stated the horse resented the sand being thrown back.

EYE MAX (D Jones) raced wide.

Race 3: CLIPSAL CLASS 2 HANDICAP 900m.
1st – RENDERER 2nd- MOODY GAL 3rd – KEEP ME DREAMING 4th - ROCKWINA

In this incident, HOUNDING (T Brummell) broke through, was quickly restrained and after undergoing a veterinary inspection, was cleared to take its place in the field.

KEEP ME DREAMING (App C Pay) and MOODY GAL (D Jones) made contact shortly after the start.

MIKEY’S FALVEY jumped awkwardly.

When questioned, Jockey M Cummings stated GAVASKAR was not comfortable with sand being thrown back.

On returning to scale, Jockey A Spradau made application to have TAX EVASION declared a non-runner. After taking evidence from Jockey Spradau, Starter Mr Andrew Lade and viewing official patrol films, Stewards declared TAX EVASION a non-runner, due to the barrier being slow to open and TAX EVASION losing considerable ground.

Prior to the announcement of correct weight, Stewards ordered that all monies invested on EUROS & TAX EVASION be refunded, and that all bets made with bookmakers prior to 2.55pm be paid less the following deductions; 64 cents in the dollar win and 49 cents the place. ROUGHRIDING (App J Rudd) shifted in under pressure in the straight.

Stewards enquired into the riding tactics employed on ALCHOU (D Jones), Jockey Jones stated no specific instructions were given and as the horse begins fairly and doesn’t sprint well, to settle the horse back and maintain a long run from the 600m. Stewards noted this explanation.
