Race 1: QH SERVICES MAIDEN PLATE 1000 METRES
1st – Gelato 2nd – Premium Victory 3rd – Destiny Express 4th – Just Lust

Just Lust (D Ballard) blundered as the field was released almost dislodging the rider then shifted in and bumped Early Exit (W D’Avila) resulting in both runners losing valuable ground.


Race 2: ISA DIESEL AND EARTHMOVING REPAIRS QTIS CLASS 1 H’CAP – 1100M
1st – Snaggles 2nd – Woodmans Way 3rd – Col’s Jeune 4th – Perfect Option

Jordane (App S Mossman) blundered at the start dislodging the rider who suffered a harmless fall.
Woodmans Way (App S McCallum) jumped awkwardly when released. On pulling up App S McCallum was dislodged by the rider less Jordane which crossed him sharply. App McCallum suffered a harmless fall in this incident.
App S McCallum was reprimanded over his whip use prior to the 100 metres.

Stewards questioned Jockey A Spradau over the performance of Da Kine Mull and he stated that he was to endeavour today to ride off the pace which he did but the gelding showed a disliking to the sand track which was Da Kine Mull’s first start at Mount Isa. He further stated that the gelding was reluctant to go forward from the 600 mtrs despite his urging, and was never on the bit and failed to run on and was very disappointing. He would suggest to the trainer that Da Kine Mull take the sit if possible closer to the pace in future.

Race 3: FAR NORTHERN WHOLESALERS COPPERMARKET WEIGHT FOR AGE 1200 METRES
1st – Majestic Lion 2nd – Heart 3rd – Headlight 4th – Supertax

Majestic Lion (A Spradau) was slow to begin.
Both Carnegie Prince (T Brummell) and More Than Primed jumped awkwardly.
Peaye Arjay (App S Mossman) jumped outwards at the start and bumped Sooth Sayer (App S McCallum) resulting in both runners becoming unbalanced and loosing ground.
Heart raced wide during the early stages.
Carnegie Prince was caught wide during the early and middle stages



Race 4: SMH EQUIPMENT MOUNT ISA CUP OPEN HANDICAP 1800 METRES
1st – Longstreet 2nd – Cheap and Nasty 3rd – Audit 4th – St Louis Blue

Party Charter (App S McCallum) Jumped awkwardly and approaching the first turn was crowded between Tanginator (T Brummell) and St Louis Blue (K Ballard) which both shifted ground, also during the middle stages Party Charter was obliged to race wide.
St Louis Blue and Tanginator raced wide during the middle stages.


Race 5: HQ HEAVY GAULAGE CLASS 3 PLATE – 1450M
1st – Troubled 2nd – Shove It 3rd – Tickle ‘em 4th Merrie Vintage

Silent Mayhem (App S McCallum) proved difficult to load and when released was slow to begin.
Shove It (K Ballard) and Tickle ‘em (W D’Avila) lay out rounding the first turn.
