Race 1 –CARBON COPY MAIDEN PLATE. (1000 METRES. ( 6 STARTERS) .
1st ITZABLUR 2nd – THE SKIPPING GIRL 3rd - SPACE SAVER 4th ,- KISSENGARNI

DARK HOMBRE was a late scratching at 1.55pm when Jockey Michael Cullen, who apparently was a late riding engagement for the gelding, had not arrived at the course. Trainer Mr. P. Inwood advised Stewards, that he wished the gelding to be scratched in the circumstances. No alteration to betting was required. At a subsequent inquiry, it was revealed that Jockey Cullen had allegedly been engaged by means of a telephone message bank left by Trainer Inwood which had not been received by Jockey Cullen. The inquiry has been adjourned until 6th November, 2012 to allow Jockey Cullen to produce his telephone records

Jockey T. Hill who rode KISSENGARNI was interviewed re that gelding’s performance. Jockey Hill advised that the gelding had jumped outwards from the outside barrier and had travelled further outwards before becoming balanced and had then crossed to the inside to lead and had travelled well to the home turn but, had then compacted quickly and was beaten some ten lengths. Jockey advised the performance was very disappointing and he was unable to offer any explanation. The gelding had pulled up without any problems.

COOGEE ROCKS (R. Sue San) raced wide all the way.

Race 2: STEVE FIRTH CLASS 2 HANDICAP (1000 METRES) . (10 STARTERS).
1st - MIATOKO 2nd - HOGS BREATH 3rd - SIR LISTER 4th - DESERT SWEEP

POWER REPORT and LAYLA were both late scratchings, as no riders were available.

A Veterinary Certificate of fitness to start was provided in respect of BARBIZON.

K. STONE rode DESERT SWEEP.

SIR LISTER (M. Cullen) jumped outwards at the start
Near the 750 metres DESERT SWEEP shifted inwards across the running of HOG’S BREATH when only marginally clear, causing HOG’S BREATH minor inconvenience. Jockey STONE was advised to exercise more care in the future.

Near the 600 metres HOG’S BREATH, LAGASON (R. Sue-San) and VIVIR (J. Kropp) all raced wide.

Rounding the home turn DESERT SWEEP, HOG’S BREATH, POMATINI (Ms J. Brown), LAGASON and VIVIR all raced wide.

Near the Two Hundred metres, DESERT SWEEP (K. Stone) shifted outwards when marginally clear of
HOG‘S BREATH (D. Ballard), causing HOG’S BREATH to be eased. Jockey K. Stone was issued with a reprimand for careless riding (AR 137(a).


Race 3: YOUR LOCAL PRINTERS CLASS B HANDICAP (1200 METRES . (9 Starters).
1st – FIRST BASE 2nd – PANDACONI 3rd - WAYNE 4th - TERRAPLEX

Ms J. Brown rode TERRAPLEX. Trainer Mr J. BAWDEN was questioned regarding the late riding engagement of Ms J. Brown for TERRAPLEX. His explanation was accepted, but he was reminded of his obligations to engage a rider by the specified time.

LEGAL LIMIT (K. Ballard) which jumped awkwardly and outwards was slightly slow away.

At the 600 metres WAYNE (T. Hill), PANDACONI (T. Brummell) and DEXTERITY (M. Morris) all raced wide.

Rounding the home turn DEXTERITY, WAYNE, PANDACONI and EXOTIC BOY (R. Sue-San) all raced wide.


Race 4. STEEJO PRESS CLASS 6 PLATE ( 1200 METRES (7 Starters).
1st – WHISPERING DEATH 2nd - WON A HEART 3rd – RICHART 4th – NORWEGIAN

RICHART (M. Cullen) raced wide all the way.

GATO (T. Brummell) and NORWEGIAN (J. Kropp) both raced wide rounding the home turn.

Trainer Mr K. Krogh was questioned as to the uncompetitive performance of OLD FLAME. Mr Krogh advised that he was very disappointed with the run and as the mare had pulled up well he could only put the performance down to the fact that the mare was coming into season and the very hot weather today. He said he will be spelling the mare immediately.


Race 5. JODIE EMMETT CLASS 3 PLATE . (1450 METRES). ( 5 Starters).
1st – I’ M HOT 2nd - WHETSTONE 3rd – WHO’S LISTENING 4th – MASTER OF REALITY

I’M HOT (J. Kropp) and WHO’S LISTENING (T. Hill) bumped on jumping away.

WHO’S LISTENING hung out at the 1300 metres turn.

I’M HOT (J. Kropp) and WHO’S LISTENING (T. Hill )raced wide all the way to the 400 metres.

I’M HOT, MASTER OF REALITY (K. Ballard) and WHO’S LISTENING all raced wide rounding the home turn.
