Arrangements had been made for the horse to undergo a Veterinary Examination prior to the race. Veterinary Surgeon Dr. D. Weber advised the horse was unfit to start. Racing Science Centre Veterinary Incident Report No. 19935 refers. Trainer Mr P. Inwood was advised that a Veterinary Certificate of fitness must be produced in respect of FASTER BUSTER, before the gelding can again start in a race.

Stewards, acting on Veterinary advice ordered that FASTER BUSTER be a late scratching at 1.15pm from this race. No alteration was required to the betting on this race.

Confusion was experienced re the distance over which this race was to be run. The distance of 1450 Metres is the standard distance over which races are run. Race Four at this Meeting was programmed to be run over 1450 metres, which it was. After consultation with Club Officials and interviewing the trainers of each horse which was to run in this race it was unanimously agreed that a mistake had occurred and the race should be run over 1450 Metres, which it was.
