RACE 1 BILL & IVY BORCHERT MAIDEN HANDICAP – 800M
Trainer Allan Jeynes was fined $50 for failing to have the Document of Description for “Sea Missy” in order. Trainer A. Jeynes was advised that the horse would be barred from racing until the ownership was in order.
SEA MISSY jumped out at the start and made heavy contact with MISS AMERICAN. Shortly after the start, TASHARNA LADY had to be steadied off the heels of LADY OF FIRE which shifted in slightly.
RACE 2 ROYAL HOTEL YARRAMAN CLASS 1 HANDICAP – 1000M
PESTY BOY jumped away awkwardly. BURREN BOYD was slow to begin. Stewards questioned jockey L. Appo into the seemingly disappointing performance of SHOW STAR. Jockey L. Appo stated that he was caught three wide in the early and middle stages and the mare was under pressure throughout the event. Jockey Appo further stated that the mare failed to run on and he advised trainer R. Hartwig that the mare may be better suited ridden quietly than trying to lead. Jockey L. Appo’s comments were noted.
RACE 3 PATRON MAYOR REG MCCALLUM MAIDEN HCP – 1200M
Trainer J. Lyons was advised that MAGIC RIDDLER which proved unruly in the saddling enclosure, and on the way to the barriers and behind the barriers, would be required to trial to the Stewards satisfaction in a series of trials prior to being permitted to race again.
MAGIC RIDDLER jumped away awkwardly and lost ground. RACY RHYMER was slow to begin. Approaching the home turn LE SAVAN commenced to hang out.
RACE 4 SOUTH BURNETT REFRIGERATION CLASS 2 HCP – 1200M
BETTER TIMES was slow to begin.
RACE 5 PETRO FUEL HANDICAP – 1500M
Approaching the home turn, STEP ABOARD and MOET MISS was held up for clear running for some distance behind the tiring I WAS THERE.
RACE 6 COTTAGE GARDENS STUDD CLASS 5 HANDICAP – 1200M
JUST AT KNIGHT jumped away awkwardly and lost ground.
