GENERAL: As apprentice T. Banks was indisposed and after listening to a request from trainer A. Banks for a senior rider as EVALTER was a hard horse to ride, the following replacement was approved.
Race 5 EVALTER P. Spry
RACE 1 GALLIPOLI MAIDEN HANDICAP – 800M
BRAVE GENTLEMAN was slow to begin.
FRAABREEZE jumped awkwardly and shortly after the start shifted out abruptly making heavy contact with MALDREAMI.
RACE 2 KAPYONG CLASS 1 HANDICAP – 1000M
EL BE DOUBLE YOU jumped out at the start making contact with TURIN.
LEGAL WILL shifted out at the start making heavy contact with STRADA BALLERINA which began awkwardly. As a result STRADA BALLERINA became unbalanced and lost ground.
RACE 3 TOBRUK MAIDEN HANDICAP – 1200M
PLACIC GLOW jumped outwards at the start. LUSKIN GOLD began awkwardly losing ground.
PLACID GLOW was inclined to over race in the early and middle stages.
Approaching the 600 metres TAMAWOOD ROAD, which was losing ground at that point, had to be steadied when tightened for room by TOXOPHILITE, which was taken in by PLACID GLOW, which shifted in slightly.
G. Lynch the rider of PLACID GLOW was advised to exercise more care.
RACE 4 CORAL SEA CLASS 2 HANDICAP – 1200M
PARTICIPANT jumped in at the start making contact with RAW FORCE which lost ground. BEAT THE BAND and OLE GOLD made contact at the start when both horses shifted ground.
Approaching the 1000 metres PARTICIPANT had to be steadied when both OLE GOLD and BEAT THE BAND shifted in. P. Gesler the rider of OLE GOLD and D. McMaster the rider of BEAT THE BAND, were both advised to exercise more care.
RACE 5 LONG TAN HANDICAP – 1500M

RACE 6 KOKODA CLASS 5 HANDICAP – 1200M
After jumping away awkwardly, SAIL THE WIND then tended to race ungenerously in the early stages losing ground.
A post race veterinary examination of BASTEE BERSATU, which compounded in the straight, revealed that gelding to have a slow recovery rate leading to a respiration problem. Stewards advised trainer G. Richardson, who was placed in the care of BASTEE BERSATU for trainer B. Richardson for today’s meeting, that a full veterinary clearance would be required prior to that geldings next start.
