PRIOR TO THE COMMENCEMENT OF THE MEETING STEWARDS INTERVIEWED JOCKEY B JOHNSON AS TO WHY HE WAS A DECLARED RIDER ON TWO HORSES IN RACE 1 ON THE PROGRAMME . STEWARDS ACCEPTED HIS EXPLANATION AND NO ACTION WAS TAKEN


STEWARDS ALSO INTERVIEWED APP O TURPIN WHO WAS DOUBLY BOOKED IN RACE 3 . STEWARDS ACCEPTED HIS EXPLANATION AFTER VERIFYING HIS EXPLANATION WITH TRAINER P BLACKWELL


RACE 1 CALTEX NANANGO MAIDEN PLATE ----1000M

1ST MISS DAKOTA 2ND WHYKICKME 3RD SOUTHERN SOUND 4TH ANGLISIA

NUCLEAR SUNRISE began awkwardly and shifted out brushing BERANI LAVA MANAWA.

ANGLISIA jumped in contacting GOLD THOUGHT

WHYKICKME and FAITH LOVER were both hampered at the start between DOONSIDE PRINCESS ,which jumped in and MISS DAKOTA which jumped out

Approaching the 500m MISS DAKOTA had to be steadied when SOUTHERN SOUND was taken in by SUBARISHI CHIKARA which was racing greenly.

Approaching the home turn WHYKICKME commenced to hang out.

At the 100m mark ANGLISIA hung in and had to be steadied off the heels of SUBARISHI CHIKARA.

CHARIOT’S ROSE was a late scratching at the barriers by order of the stewards at 1-15pm .Before correct weight was given deductions of 5cents the win and 6cents the place were ordered by the Stewards .

Connections were notified that CHARIOT’S ROSE would be required to pass an official barrier jump-out before racing again .



RACE2 COMMERCIAL HOTEL CLASS1 HCP ----1000M

1ST PANAMA JACK 2ND BANDIT ROCKS 3RD MOCAN RATA WHETU 4TH PINDAN

VANSAR was slow to begin

At the 800m GREAT DAVE rolled in placing FORSETI in restricted room for a short distance.

GEN SET raced wide in the early and middle stages of the race .

SAVINA HABANERO was declared a late scratching at 1-45pm by order of the Stewards, as the jockey App B Agland was accidently unseated in the enclosure and injured his right elbow, which required medical attention . App Agland will require a Doctors Certificate before his next riding engagements

Stewards ordered deductions of 8cents the win and 8cents the place on face value of all tickets before declaring correct weight



RACE3 THORP’S JEWELLERS KINGAROY AND SOUTH BURNETT TIMES CLASS B -----1200
1st SNEAKY LONG 2nd SEQUALO BLUE 3rd AGENT EIGHTYSIX 4th KRASNOROUTSKAYA

At the start CROWN’N’COUNTRY and HONNOUR YOUR MARKS were tightened for room between MINDIL BEACH and KUBANG D’WASHU which was taken out by SNEAKY LONG which jumped awkwardly

SEQUALO BLUE over raced in the middle stages and became unbalanced for a short distance

Over the final 100m KELABU JUTAWAN was tightened for room between KRASNOROUTSKAYA which shifted out abruptly and FEAR THE COUNT which was taken in by SEQUALO BLUE. In this incident Stewards advised all riders to exercise more care.


Correct weight was delayed while App P Randall viewed the film with a request that his horse be declared a non runner . Stewards after hearing his submission and interviewing the Starter declared the horse PILLOWS a starter under AR 134 (A)

Connections were advised that PILLOWS would be required to pass an official barrier jump out



RACE4 KEN MILLS TOYOTA QTIS MAIDEN PLATE -----1200M

1ST PICAWILE 2ND AS CUSTOMARY 3RD LADY AURA 4TH CLASSIC HAYIL


LADY AURA jumped in at the start hampering CLASSIC HAYIL .

OUR MACADANEA and AQUA’S BEST made heavy contact at the start when both horses shifted ground . A short distance later AQUA’S BEST had to be steadied when tightened for room to the inside of FLINDER’S LANE which hung in .

At the 950m AQUA’S BEST again had to be steadied off the heels of KING ALI when it began to over race .

OUR MACADANEA raced greenly over the final 150m of the race.


App T Huxham was dislodged in the enclosure and was cleared to fulfil his riding engagements by medical staff .
Prior to the start FLINDERS LANE was inspected by the clubs veterinary surgeon and cleared to race .

Jockey T Banks was unable to fulfil his riding engagement on BUCK SEASON and was replaced by Jockey B Johnson . Because of the circumstances , which were verified by the assisting Stewards , Jockey T Banks was reprimanded under AR 85b.

ADAVALE HORNET was slow to begin, as was ADDICTED LADY .

NEVADA GAMBLER and CLANGER brushed on jumping away

MY ANNUITY and GRAND COLOURS raced wide rounding the first turn .

Stewards interviewed App S Long over the horses performance in the early and middle stages of the race .App Long stated that ADAVALE HORNET was slow to begin and after that was never comfortable in the dusty conditions and was only able to keep in touch by being ridden along . This did not suit the horse ,but App Long felt that her mount did finish the off well . Stewards noted her explanation .

After the race Jockey D Van Bekkum asked to view the film with a request that her mount be declared a non runner . Stewards after viewing the film agreed that her gates were marginally slow to open which hampered ADDICTED LADY causing the mare to be slowly away ,but declared ADDICTED LADY a runner under AR 134 (A)


Stewards also fined Jockey L Appo $100 for a celebratory gesture prior to the winning post .AR 137 (c)




RACE 6 NANANGO FIRST NATIONAL REAL ESTATE CLASS 5 -----1200M

1ST PICWORTH 2ND CROWN PRINCE 3RD SLICK TRICK 4TH MUSHOOD

IT’S VOLCANIC was slow at the start , shifted out brushing TOP’S LAD

RAYMOND’S REWARD raced wide in the early and middle stages .

BANKA BUCK was wide in the early and middle stages


ALL WINNERS WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED .
