When questioned about the improved performance of GEMPACK trainer M Hoyling stated after the disappointing performance at Charleville GEMPACK developed a cold and he believes this was the reason for the disappointing run as the gelding had been racing well prior to that run. Mr Hoyling further stated he believes the gelding races best when fresh and the stable did not support the gelding today even though he gave him a good chance, explanation noted.
