Race 1: GF Rural FNQ Werrington Plate QTIS Class 2 Handicap – 1400M
1st – Mayweather 2nd – Cabinet 3rd – Bolt From the Blue 4th – Sassy

ABSOLUTE KING (L. Morrison) jumped out as the gate opened brushing MAYWEATHER (F. Edwards).

WILLYWYNYA (J. King) had a tendency to hang out on the turn into the front straight.

SASSY (B. Swaffer) was inconvenienced approximately 50 metres from the finish line when making a run between ABSOLUTE KING (L. Morrison) on the inside and CABINET (M. Elliott) on the outside when CABINET shifted in momentarily despite the efforts of jockey M. Elliott.

Race 2: Elanco, Olssons, Pfizer, Ingham Tyres The Champion Race Open Handicap– 1400M
1st – Rontgen 2nd – Fred the Legion 3rd – Keen on You 4th – Just a Touch

FRED THE LEGION (N. Bin Yadi) was fractious in the barrier prior to the start being effected.

KEEN ON YOU (B. Swaffer) was slow into stride as the start was effected.

Race 3: The Collins 150 Year Memorial Class B Handicap – 1200M
1st – Electric Blue 2nd – Mortie 3rd – Legal Limit 4th – God She’s Raunchy

MY LIONESS (J. King) was slow into stride as the start was effected.

Stewards questioned Jockey W. D’Avila (ELECTRIC BLUE) in relation to his whip action in particular prior to the finish and after the finish line. From stewards observations and from viewing the film of the race Jockey D’Avila was charged under the provisions of AR137A(4)(e) for using his whip after the finish line. Jockey D’Avila pleaded guilty to the charge and was subsequently fined the sum of $200.

Race 4: Booth Pastoral Services/Bayer Australia Lyndhurst Shield Class 6 Handicap – 1600M
1st – Rain Game 2nd – Cool Shower 3rd – Oscar the Great 4th – Albuquerque

BEEBEESDUEL (J. King) was very difficult to load delaying the start of the race by seven minutes. Connections were advised that the horse will be stood down from racing until the stewards are satisfied that the horse will load into the barriers in the desired manner.
ALBUQUERQUE (B. Swaffer) was slow into stride as the start was effected.

Race 5: Coleman Stock Feeds/Parry Nissan The Bangle Class 4 Handicap – 1000M
1st – In a Jam 2nd – Manhattan Lad 3rd – Houfu 4th – Mr Gifford

MR GIFFORD (K. Rockett) was very slow to begin missing the start by approximately 5 lengths. Jockey Rockett advised stewards that the horse was reluctant to go forward in the early stages of the race.

GILT PRINCE (L. Morrison) suffered a bleeding attack from both nostrils during the race and was subsequently stood down from racing for a period of 3 months and a satisfactory trial under the provisions of AR 53A.

ANGEL WITHIN (J. King) started to compound and lose ground at approximately the 800 metre point and continued to lose ground as the race progressed. Jockey King stated that the horse did not appear to handle the track. Trainer N. King could offer no further explanation as to the horse’s performance. Connections were advised that the performance of the horse was bordering on unsatisfactory. Connections were further advised that the onus is on them to ensure the horse performs in the desired manner in the future. A warning was issued.
