RACE 1: WESTCOTT MAIDEN - 800 Metres - 4 Starters
TOOTSIES CHARM was slow to begin missing the start by approximately three lengths.
No incident in running.
RACE 2: COLEMAN STOCK FEEDS CLASS 2 – 800 Metres – 7 Starters
No racing incidents.
RACE 3: WILSON RYAN & GROSE 2003 – KOOROORINYA CUP OPEN – 1400 Metres – 5 Starters.
A PROMISE had to be eased and check across the heels of OUR NEW TOY at the 300 metre point due to A PROMISE tiring and losing ground.
RACE 4: PARRY NISSAN BANGLE – OPEN – 800 Metres – 7 Starters
NATIVE BARON was very fractious at the starting areas finally dislodging Jockey D. Owens. NATIVE BARON galloped back to the saddling enclosure. Subsequently NATIVE BARON was scratched.
No racing incidents.
RACE 5: TOWNSVILLE WELDING SUPPLIES OPEN – 1000 Metres – 6 Starters
PROUD MONGUL had a tendency to hang in down the straight and in particular around the 100 metre point.
RACE 6: ROBINSON CATERING SERVICES HANDICAP – CLASS 4 – 1000 Metres – 4 Starters
No racing incidents.
RACE 7: MURRAY & SON EARTHMOVING – CLASS 1 – 1200 METRES – 5 Starters
GOODBYE CHIEF missed the start losing approximately ten lengths. GOODBY CHIEF made up the ground to win by four lengths.
MAGIC LANCE was inspected by the veterinarian after the race after appearing sore in the front straight. The veterinarian reported that the horse appeared to be tying up.
All horses that competed at the meeting were inspected and identified prior to starting.
