SUPPLEMENTARY REPORTS:

Nil.

Race 1: QUALITY STREEL FABRICATIONS & ENGINEERING P/L CLASS “B” HANDICAP. 1200 Metres. ( 12 Starters).
1st - WILLYWYNNA 2nd - MIATOKO 3rd - SEAGAL 4th - MORTIE

Jockey Michael Harris replaced Michael Cullen as the rider of LIKE CLOCKWORK. Before the field had been fully loaded into the barriers, MORTIE (Ms L. Morrison) broke through the starting gate and cantered a short distance before being returned to the starting gates.

At the start LIKE CLOCKWORK (M. Harris) and MIATOKO (A. Spradau) were slowly away. WILLYWYNYA (Apprentice J. King) jumped into the air and outwards and made heavy contact with JET RAFT (T. Hill), which was taken out onto DANIVA (R. Sue-San). At the 1000 metres DANIVA and LIKE CLOCKWORK both raced wide.

Rounding the 800 metre turn, JET RAFT which was travelling on an inward course to gain a better racing position had to be eased when the position it was endeavouring to obtain became too tight, owing to horses from the inside shifting outwards. DANIVA and MIO MONDO both raced wide round the 800 metre turn. WILLYWYNYA which was leading shifted out several horses rounding the home turn and in doing so surrendered the lead which it regained in the straight. DANIVA raced wide rounding the home turn.

Apprentice J. King and his Master Ms N. King who is also the trainer of
WILLYWYNYA, were interviewed regarding the improved performance and different riding tactics employed on
WILLYWYNYA today, as compared to the gelding’s ninth placing in a similar type race at Mt. Isa on 9th June, 2012. Ms King again stated the horse did not handle the track at Mt Isa and Apprentice King re-stated his reason for his lack of vigour over the concluding stages of the Mt Isa race as compared with his riding of the gelding today. Ms KING produced evidence of supporting the horse today as she did at its previous start. Both Licensees were advised as to their responsibilities regarding the consistent performance of their horses.

Race 2: HASTINGS DEERING OPEN HANDICAP. 1200 Metres. (9 Starters).
1st - ANCONI 2nd - SECRETS 3rd - CASTELLANI 4th - APACHE PUP

APACHE PUP (G. Cullen) was slowly away. At the start ANCONI (T. Brummell) jumped outwards and continued to shift outwards for some distance taking APACHE PUP, SECRETS (R Mules), RONTGEN (M. Elliott) and IMAHERE (J. Long) wider on the track. APACHE PUP was inconvenienced between ANCONI and SECRETS. Following an inquiry into the incident Jockey T. Brummell was severely reprimanded for Carless riding AR 137(a)
Near the 800 metres SECRETS (R. Mules) had to be eased when tightened for room between APACHE PUP and SNAGAPOT ((Apprentice J. King). An inquiry into the incident revealed that APACHE PUP which was over racing shifted outwards to avoid heels of REIGNING TO WIN (M. Morris). SECRETS was travelling to the outside and rearward of APACHE PUP. SNAGAPOT was travelling to the outside and forwards of SECRETS at this time. Stewards found that whilst APACHE PUP had shifted outwards, SNAGAPOT had simultaneously shifted inwards thus tightening SECRETS for racing room. Apprentice J. King was advised to exercise more care in the future. ZIP IT OFF (T. Hill) raced wide rounding the 800 metre turn.

Race 3: RABO BANK QTIS CLASS 3 PLATE . 1100 Metres. ( 12 Starters)..

T. Hill replaced M. Cullen as the rider of GALAXY GOLD. M. Elliott rode CABINET. A. Spradau rode CRAIGLEA RAWIE. Before the field had been fully loaded into the barriers, RED HUSSERATI’S (M. Morris) starting gate apparently opened without reason and the gelding cantered a short distance before being returned to the starting gates.

A DEPENDANT (R. Mules) jumped outwards and inconvenienced GALAXY GOLD (T. Hill), which had been slow to jump. HUFF AND PUFF (G. Cullen), GILT PRINCE (Ms L. Morrison), GENERAL CALM (D. Ballard) and A DEPENDANT all raced wide rounding the 800 metres turn. LITTLE MISTY (T. Brummell), GENERAL CALM, A DEPENDANT and HUFF AND PUFF all raced wide rounding the home turn.
