STEWARDS REPORT – SATURDAY 6TH JANUARY, 2001

WEATHER: FINE TRACK: FAST


RACE 1 CLASS 4 HCP. 1000 METRES (6 STARTERS): No racing incidents to report.

RACE 2 MAIDEN HCP. 1000 METRES (8 STARTERS): No racing incidents to report.

RACE 3 CLASS 2 HCP. 1000 METRES (8 STARTERS): On jumping CAMBRAD knuckled over dislodging rider J. Stephens. A Post race veterinary inspection revealed that CAMBRAD had suffered minor cuts to his off fore & both hind pasterns in this incident.

SPLASH POINT was extremely slow into stride as the filly had baulked at the close proximity of the starter in her barrier 1 position.

Correct weight was delayed enabling a second photo finish to be developed after jockey W. Welburn wished to confirm his placing the event.

RACE 4 OPEN HCP. 1000 METRES (6 STARTERS):. GANCIA SOVEREIGN was slow into stride.

Rounding the home turn TRUST CLIFF and NANATAN brushed resulting in NANATAN momentarily losing ground.

RACE 5 MAIDEN HCP.1350 METRES (8 STARTERS): STARSHIP and RANTIGGER came together shortly after the start.

At approximately the 1000 metres KEELAWEE ROAD had to be steadied off the heels of the front runners.

At approximately the 150 metres MAO’S IMAGE shifted outwards under pressure and had to be straightened. After straightening MAO’S IMAGE shifted inwards which resulted in RANTIGGER having to ease to avoid the heels of MAO’S IMAGE.

RANTIGGGER shifted outwards after taking charge, which resulted in both KEELAWEE ROAD and FIERY NEDIYM having to ease. Jockey T. Williams rider of MAO’S IMAGE was issued with a reprimand over the initial incident.

RACE 6 CLASS 5 HCP. 1350 METRES (4 STARTERS): At approximately the 1150 metres LONG LONG ROAD had to be eased slightly rolling outwards to avoid the heels of REGAN.

BOOKMAKERS: Two (2) bookmakers fielded at the race meeting.

SWABBING: All winners were sent to be swabbed and those samples collected were forwarded to the Racing Science Centre for routine analysis.
