RACING:
RACE 1 MAIDEN HCP. 1100 METRES (9 STARTERS) MANOR’S DAUGHTER was declared a late scratching at 8.15am. Trainer L. Horstman was fined the sum of $50 for failing to scratch the filly by the required time.
The start time of this race was delayed due to WOULDN’T CREDIT IT becoming fractious in the barriers.
SNAAWIN jumped in at the start and tightened COUNT ON KEN onto TALLIS.
ACOBAMBA jumped away awkwardly.
JUST A LOVE (S. Quick) raced wide in the early and middle stages.
Approaching the 300 metres COUNT ON KEN (P. Moodie) shifted in to obtain clear running and as a result made contact with WOULDN’T CREDIT IT (D. Johnston).
R. Hancock the rider of SNAAWIN was reminded of his obligations to ride his mount out fully to the end of the race.
RACE 2 CLASS 4 HCP. 1000 METRES (6 STARTERS) CRYSTAL’S BOY was slow to begin.
Inside the 50 metres BRACE SLOT (J. Piper) shifted out under pressure and bumped TANDOAKA (N. Evans).
Following the event J. Piper reported that his mount was inclined to hang out throughout the event.
N. Evans reported that he was placed at a disadvantage rounding the home turn after the bit had been pulled through the mouth of TANDOAKA.
RACE 3 OPEN HCP 1000 METRES (8 STARTERS) BLUE MARLOO proved difficult to load.
DIVIOT was slow to begin.
RACE 4 3YO CLASS 4 HCP.1300 METRES (4 STARTERS). BELLORN was declared a late scratching at 8.10am. Trainer J. Kelly was fined the sum of $50 for failing to scratch the filly by the prescribed time.
AWESOME LAD jumped out at the start and made contact with NAUTICAL MUNDA.
RACE 5 CLASS 6 HCP.1300 METRES (11 STARTERS). IMPERIAL ORDER jumped away awkwardly.
RACE 6 CLASS 2 HCP 1200 METRES (14 STARTERS) HULA SHARP was slow to begin.
EXINGENCY and SPIRITED GIRL came together at the start.
Approaching the 1000 metres INTENSIONS (NZ) (C. Beets) shifted out and away from CHESS PIECE (C. Johnston) resulting in SOK (D. Simmons) being momentarily crowded onto FRIANDISE (M Allen) which in turn had to be steadied off the heels of PIPER’S EVENING (D. Whitmore).
RACE 7 2YO HCP.1200 METRES (10 STARTERS) Inside the 200 metres WESTERN PLEASURE (W. Welburn) shifted in under pressure and became unbalanced after making contact with QUARTPOT (N. Evans).
RACE 8 CLASS 3 HCP 1600 METRES (10 STARTERS) C’MON LARI jumped away awkwardly.
Inside the 50 metres PAPER DOLL (D. Whitmore) became unbalanced after appearing to over reach in its galloping stride.
BOOKMAKERS: Five (5) bookmakers fielded at the race meeting.
SWABBING: All winners were sent to be swabbed and the samples collected were forwarded to the Racing Science Centre for routine analysis.
