ROCKHAMPTON JOCKEY CLUB STEWARDS REPORT 18/12/03

WEATHER – FINE TRACK – GOOD
RAIL – Out 2.5m entire circumference

GENERAL
All riders were requested to provide a sample prior to their leaving the meeting. Apprentice C Bryen failed to provide a sample and left the course without permission. Stewards have directed that C Bryen not be permitted to ride in races until he supplies a sample.

D Johnston indisposed and replaced by M Unwin on CEARNAIGH in Race 7
D Johnston directed to produce a medical certificate of fitness before riding again.

Jockey B Appo was fined $50.00 for smoking in the Jockey room AR8 (e).

RACE 1: CLASS 6 PLATE – 1000M
QUESADILLA (L Attard) fractious in the stalls.
DREAMS OF WEALTH (S Quick) jumped inwards coming into contact with QUESADILLA (L Attard).

RACE 2: CLASS 4 H'CAP – 1000M
OUR BULLET (D Evans) held up for a clear run on the fence on two occasions and switched out searching for a clear run at about the 200 metres.

RACE 3: CLASS 3 PLATE – 1200M
CHIEF HARMONY (M Rice) performed poorly and Stewards a swab to be taken from that horse. M Rice reported that CHIEF HARMONY jumped well, travelled well during the race but failed to run on when placed under pressure.
TOE TAPPER (B Appo) slowly away. TOE TAPPER commenced to over race at about the 800 metres and had to be eased off the heels of BARTON BANK (M Unwin). When eased off the heels of BARTON BANK, TOE TAPPER was inclined to lay out.

RACE 4: OPEN WFA 1200M -
MR. MERRY LOVE (C Beets), DEMON JACK (L Timson) and PASSER PASSION (D Lloyd) were all slowly away.
Approaching the 800 metres OSCA ERIC (M Bennett) threw its head in the air when being steadied.

RACE 5: QTIS 3YO CLASS 4 H’CAP – 1300M
ADMIRALADY (C Beets) threw its head in the air at about the 1200 metres when being restrained to take up a position closer to the fence. ADMIRALADY eased off the heels of MY DANCING BOY (R Mules), which shifted ground on the home turn.

RACE 6: S/C H'CAP – 1600M
R Graham fined $50.00 for failing to claim his full allowance on GENTEEL BOY AR92 (12)
TOBIANA (D Evans) slowly away.




RACE 7: MAIDEN H'CAP – 1400M
KACHING KACHING (NZ) scratched at 2.35pm on veterinary advice after being found to be sore in the off fore.
At about the 1100 metres COMINCIATO (G Evans), which was over racing, shifted out sharply to avoid the heels of CEARNAIGH (M Unwin). CEARNAIGH commenced to over race and shifted out bumping SHY YONNIE (D Whitmore) who in turn made contact with AMBERACE (L Attard) causing those three horses to become unbalanced.

RACE 8: CLASS 2 H'CAP – 1400M
KEILOR (NZ) (G Evans) jumped inwards coming into contact with KIRLANILAD (G Booth) and DANCE TO RACE (D Whitmore).
HUGGER MUGGER (J Stephens) jumped outwards.
SNIPPETY SNIP (M Bennett) jumped outwards coming into contact with NIMAGIRRA (B Appo).
M Barnham the rider of MYALLA HILLS was reprimanded for allowing his mount to drift out and cause HUGGER MUGGER (J Stephens) to be steadied and change course at about the 500 metres.

ALL WINNERS AND CHIEF HARMONY WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED.
