General:
Due to G McKeon being injured at Ipswich on the 15th July 2004, the following rider changes were permitted:
Race 3. MARS PARTY – T Mathieson
Race 4. NEW MOLLYAN –T Mathieson
Race 5. BLUE JAM – D Evans
Race 6. IT’S A RIPA – B Stewart
Race 7. PEGUNNY DREAM – B Stewart
Jockey A Lane fined $100 (LR49) leaving racecourse without permission of Stewards (Rockhampton 29/6/04).

Race 1: CLASS 6 HANDICAP - 1600 metres
Trainers John Manzelmann (LARCENY) and T Cook (MY JUGAH) were ordered to remove bandages from those horses when bandages were found not to be stitched in accordance with requirements.

Race 2: CLASS 2 HANDICAP - 1600 metres
RAINBOW BRIAN (M Taylor) jumped out on to ON BLU BAYOU (J Stephens).
MISS FONTEYN (D Whitmore) jumped outwards at the start coming into contact with ROSIELEE MISS (C Beets).
Approaching the 1100 metre mark MISS FONTEYN tended to over race getting on to the heels of RAINBOW BRIAN (M Taylor).

Race 3: 2YO MAIDEN HANDICAP - 1200 metres
Trainer K Smyth was refused approval to place a tongue tie on REASON TO BE as such tongue tie had not been declared prior to acceptance time.
D Evans replaced on PAMELA JEAN as M Dale was indisposed.
Prior to the start MARS PARTY dislodged its rider T Mathieson and galloped to about the 1250 metre mark where it jumped the inside rail landing on its back. It then proceeded to gallop the entire circumference of the course and was scratched at 1.02pm by order of the Stewards. All monies on that horse were ordered refunded and a deduction of 2 cents a win and 3 cents a place was ordered in accordance with the provisions of the Racing & Betting Act. Trainer C Dore was advised that MARS PARTY would be required to barrier trial prior to renominating.
Trainer D Schultz was advised that BEE JAYS MAGIC would not be permitted to race at TAB meetings in future until it could prove itself competitive.

Race 4: MAIDEN HANDICAP - 1200 metres
MISS BURNETT dislodged Apprentice Melissa Taylor behind the barriers. Both horse and rider were uninjured and took their place in the field.
MISS BURNETT (M Taylor) raced greenly over the concluding stages.
Jockey B Stewart the rider of HE’S ALL SPEED was reprimanded for allowing his mount to shift in at approximately the 900 metre mark when insufficiently clear of CHINLY (C Beets).

Race 5: 1ST DIVISION CLASS 1 HANDICAP - 1200 metres
KING OF KOS (T Mathieson) slow into stride and was further inconvenienced when INVERMORE (A Lane) jumped out on to MY PONDEROSA (M Evans) forcing that horse out further and BON SIMONE (B Stewart) jumped in on to THAT NELLY OF MINE (D Whitmore) forcing that horse onto the KING OF KOS (T Mathieson).
Jockey D Evans the rider of BLUE JAM was reprimanded for allowing his mount to shift in at approximately the 450 metre mark when insufficiently clear of BON SIMONE (B Stewart) which resulted in Stewart’s mount being hampered and being taken in on to HOLLY BUSH HONEY (S Quick) which in turn struck the fence.

Race 6: 2ND DIVISION CLASS 1 HANDICAP – 1200 metres
Stewards ordered a veterinary inspection of BELLE D’ACCENT after that filly pulled up sore. Veterinary surgeon Hayley Webster reported that the filly was suffering from a pulled muscle and haematoma above the elbow on the off side.
At about the 200metre mark IT’S A RIPA (B Stewart) shifted out attempting a run coming into contact with GEE GEE MACGREGOR (S Quick). In the incident Shayla Quick accidentally dropped her whip.
Rounding the home turn RAIDING PARTY (D Whitmore) became unbalanced and struck the fence of its own accord.

Race 7: CLASS 5 HANDICAP – 1200 metres
Ross Meek the trainer of GREEN JACKET was advised that a warning was being placed on the gelding due to its barrier manners.
At the conclusion of Race 7 Jockey B Stewart was examined by the ambulance officer and found to be unfit to ride in the remaining races. Replaced in Race 8 by Jockey S Quick on DANJOSE and by Jockey R Mules on SNAALEE in Race 9.

Race 8: CLASS 4 HANDICAP – 1000 metres
PLEASE WAIT (J Stephens) got away from the attendants at the barrier and was captured by the Clerk of the Course. The horse was scratched by the Stewards at 4.02pm and all monies were ordered refunded. A deduction of 8 cents for the win and 9 cents for the place was ordered in accordance with the provisions of the Racing & Betting Act.
Pat Camilleri the trainer of PLEASE WAIT was advised that the mare would be required to pass a barrier test prior to renominating.
When questioned regarding an incident at about the 750-metre mark, Jockey N Day stated that his mount ST SPARTICA commenced to over race and pulled its way up on to the heels of PERONISTA (D Evans). He had trouble restraining his mount off that horse’s heels.
SET FOR STARDOM(C Beets) tended to over race in the early stages of the event.
R Mules the rider of LOUISVILLE LIP shifted out under pressure making contact with LAURISTAN (D Green) at approximately the 150 metre mark.

Race 9: OPEN HANDICAP – 1100 metres
THE FALCON (D Whitmore) jumped out at the start coming into contact with LADY LONG LEGS (A Lane).
MISTER PO (M Evans) jumped out at the start coming into contact with CITICHARM (D Green).

ALL WINNERS WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED
