General:
A Lane advised that he would not be attending due to medical reasons. In his absence the following replacements were permitted:
Race 1. Let’s Kanoodle – J Stephens
Race 3. Kruger Park – R Goltz
Race 4. Stanza’s Gift – C Beets

Race 1: MAIDEN HANDICAP - 1400 metres
TUNZA RAIN (G Booth) slow away.
LEADER MOONSHINE (C Beets) returned to scale with blood coming from both nostrils. Mandatory 3-month suspension imposed AR53A.
At about the 500 metres CEARNAIGH (D Johnston) was disappointed for a run.
At about the 1200 metres CHUNG LING (R Goltz) shifted in abruptly making heavy contact with KACHING KACHING (NZ) (D Evans).

Race 2: CLASS 1 HANDICAP - 1500 metres
KING OF KOS (L Timson) jumped awkwardly, shifted in sharply, struck the fence and raced ungenerously during the early and middle stages of the race.
At about the 500 metres THE ROAN RANGER (D Green) was disappointed for a run.
Stewards questioned Jockey Dale Evans regarding the poor performance of PEER GYNT. D Evans stated that the horse travelled nicely to the home turn but failed to run on. This was the first start for new trainer.
A veterinary examination of PRINCESS POSH was ordered after the mare pulled up lame. It was found that the mare had ‘swollen and hard muscles over the off side shoulder blade.’

Race 3: SPECIAL CONDITIONS HANDICAP - 1600 metres
DREAM OUT LOUD (L Timson) struck the fence on the way to the start. The gelding was examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to start.
Jockey R Barone and Trainer R Meek were questioned regarding the poor showing of AWESOME LAD. R Barone stated that the horse travelled well until straightening and then failed to run on. He stated that the horse failed to perform as well as it had in Emerald the week before.
Trainer R Meek stated that a veterinary examination of two other horses in his stable had revealed they were suffering from a virus and this may have been passed on to AWESOME LAD.
A veterinary examination of AWESOME LAD revealed ‘congestion of upper airways’, the veterinary surgeon suspecting a respiratory virus.
Trainer S Watkin fined $50 LR70 failing to declare a rider on KRUGER PARK.
Trainer M Stafford fined $50 AR64 ineligible nomination STREAM GUL.

Race 4: CLASS 3 HANDICAP - 1600 metres
CALAIS BOUND (D Evans) jumped awkwardly and was hampered by CONTENDER (NZ) (L Timson) and FILZAO (G Booth).

Race 5: 3YO CLASS 2 HANDICAP - 1200 metres
Trainer M Attard advised that Jockey R Mules reported that DUSTY DEBIL choked down during the race. M Attard would experiment with a tongue tie.
HULA EXPRESS (J Stephens) fractious in the barrier.
Approaching the 800 metres DABBLIN LANE (R Goltz) tended to over race having to be steadied off the heels of HOLLYBUSH HONEY (S Quick).

Race 6: FILLIES & MARES CLASS 2 HANDICAP – 1200 metres
Jockey R Goltz the rider of SECRET KNOWLEDGE was questioned over the poor performance of that horse over the concluding stages. R Goltz stated that the mare had not cornered well on the home turn and felt uncomfortable under him. He eased SECRET KNOWLEDGE down over the concluding stages. A veterinary examination of that horse revealed that it was very distressed. Trainer G Taylor will be advised that he will be required to produce a veterinary certificate of fitness prior to that horse restarting.

Race 7: XXXX HANDICAP – 1300 metres
TYCOON TED (M Evans) shifted in over the concluding stages coming into contact with CAPANNELLE (J Stephens).
Stewards enquired into an incident at about the 100 metre mark in which CAPANNELLE (J Stephens) shifted out under pressure inconveniencing CATERER (D Evans) at the same time CATERER was wanting to hang in. Jockey J Stephens was issued with a reprimand.
At about the 500 metres STREAM GUL (B Stewart) rolled in on two occasions hampering LAURINEL IMPULSE (T Mathieson).
