Race 1: CLASS 1 HANDICAP - 1200 metres
BONARBRIDGE (M Evans) was slow away.
At about the 700metre mark GALWAY DRIFTER appeared to falter and was pulled up by Jockey R Mules. After examining the gelding it was the opinion of Veterinary Surgeon Dr Richard Olsen that GALWAY DRIFTER be euthanased to prevent further distress to animal. as it had sustained a fracture in the near side shoulder region.
Jockey R Mules reported that GALWAY DRIFTER appeared to be over racing and when being restrained he felt the horse falter and retired the horse from the race.

Race 2: 1st DIVN MAIDEN PLATE - 1100 metres
At about the 900 metres CLOSED OUT (R Hall) raced up on to the heels of BOLD GENERAL (M L Evans) that was drifting in at the time. CLOSED OUT clipped the heels of BOLD GENERAL causing that horse to lose ground. BOLD GENERAL suffered lacerations to the off hind leg.
CLOSED OUT (R Hall) raced greenly in the straight.
Both riders were instructed to take more care in future.
Jockey D Johnston was questioned regarding his inability to make the weight on REGENT DIAMOND. Stewards accepted his explanation that he was on medication due to a dental problem and issued him with a reprimand.

Race 3: 2nd DIVN MAIDEN PLATE - 1100 metres
A protest was lodged by Ms Shayla Quick the rider of SUNNY SEQUEL against CHUM (D Green) being declared the 2nd place getter alleging interference at about the 900 metre mark. After taking evidence from all parties, viewing the film and on their own observations Stewards dismissed the protest. It was established that SUNNY SEQUEL had been inconvenienced inside SAMSON WARRIOR (D Lloyd) when that horse had continued to lay in after initial pressure from CHIEF FLYING HORSE (D Johnston). No action was taken.
Approaching the home turn SAMSON WARRIOR (D Lloyd) brushed the fence and rolled out coming into contact with CHIEF FLYING HORSE (D Johnston).

Race 4: CLASS 3 HANDICAP - 1100 metres
The declaration of correct weight was delayed while Trainer A Jones and Apprentice G McKeon viewed the photo finish.
A further delay of correct weight occurred while Jockeys D Whitmore and M J Stephens requested an investigation of the start. Stewards could find no reason to declare those horses non-runners and correct weight was given.
TSAR DANCER (A Lane) over raced in the early and middle stages of the race.
Over the concluding stages ST SPARTICA (N Day) tended to lay in behind FACIAL (G McKeon).
GO SHEPPY GO (D Whitmore) was fractious in the barrier.

Race 5: SPECIAL CONDITION HANDICAP - 1000 metres
ZOE’S LAD (A Lane) was inclined to lay in after straightening.
SMART SET (G McKeon) brushed the fence at about the 550metre mark causing a minor injury to the right foot of Apprentice G McKeon.

Race 6: CLASS 2 HANDICAP – 1600 metres
MISS FONTEYN (D Whitmore) was slow away.

Race 7: CLASS 4 HANDICAP – 1400 metres
MYCENAE (M Barnham) jumped in the air and lost ground.
SOMERSET ROAD (D Green) jumped inwards coming into contact with WYNA (D Whitmore).
Jockey D Green the rider of SOMERSET ROAD was accidentally struck on the arm by the whip of R Mules the rider of NORTHERN SPIRIT over the concluding stages..
