Trainer to be advised that a veterinary clearance would be required prior to starting again.
NO MORE DREAMS (G McKeon) was scratched at the barriers at 3.23pm acting on veterinary advice. Dr McKerrow advised that the horse was lame in the off fore. A deduction of 16 cents a win and 14 cents a place was ordered and all monies on that horse were ordered refunded. Trainer to be advised that a veterinary clearance would be required prior to starting again.
Race 6: OPEN HANDICAP – 1100 metres
Stewards questioned Apprentice S Van Klaveren and his master Trainer Michael Craven with regard to Apprentice Van Klaveren returning to scale half a kilogram over his allotted weight on STARATAN. When questioned Apprentice Van Klaveren stated that he had placed a towel on his mount that took up a lot of sweat. Stewards noted his explanation and issued Apprentice Van Klaveren with a warning. Stewards advised that they would be monitoring his weight at future weigh-ins.
As the start was effected TYCOON TED (M Evans) jumped outwards and bumped STARATAN (S Van Klaveren).
