Race 1: QTIS 2yo Handicap – 1300 metres
1st: RUNNING SCARED 2nd: MIRABA 3rd MY DIAMOND DAN 4th: JOINT KREW
Jockey M Bennett suffered a harmless fall in the straight on the way to the barriers. He quickly remounted and proceeded to the barriers.
RED HERO and TOONAK both jumped awkwardly.
BONVOLONTE and NUNKULLAH ROAD both jumped awkwardly.
JOINT KREW jumped in onto SHADOWING.
At about the 1100 metres, SHADOWING commenced to over-race, and shifted out sharply, coming into heavy contact with BONVOLONTE.
MIRABA over-raced in the early and middle stages, and leaving the 500 metres, was held up for clear running.
Jockey S Quick reported to stewards that her mount SHADOWING raced greenly throughout.

Race 2: Class 1 Handicap – 1300 metres
1st: GEE GEE MACGREGOR 2nd: THE ROAN RANGER 3rd: LA TAR 4th: STAR OF CENTRO
Due to the unavailability of an apprentice, stewards permitted jockey R Barone to replace apprentice B Hull on FANCY FLIRT.
A veterinary clearance was received for BRUT.
BRUT was slowly away.
Shortly after the start REGAL REBOUND blundered.
THE ROAN RANGER over-raced in the early stages, then became awkward on heels of STAR OF CENTRO and was checked.
Jockey R Barone was severely reprimanded, when nearing the 1100 metres, he allowed FANCY FLIRT to shift in, taking LA TAR inwards, resulting in REGAL REBOUND and STAR OF CENTRO being crowded and steadied. Shortly after, STAR OF CENTRO shifted out and bumped REGAL REBOUND, who in turn contacted LA TAR, which was steadied from the heels of FANCY FLIRT.

Race 3: Maiden Handicap – 1200 metres
1st ALLUSIVE DANCER 2nd AEROTIC 3rd LEA LISA 4th FLIP HOSE
Due to the unavailability of an apprentice, stewards permitted jockey G Booth to replace apprentice B Hull on FLIP HOSE.
KAAPTIVE BOUNTY jumped outwards, taking FOREST VOODOO, FIERY MELODY, and BOUQUET DANCER wider.
KENYA KEEPA SECRET was slowly away.
BUNBURY jumped in and bumped BUYING TIME (NZ).
Approaching the 500 metres, FLIP HOSE began to hang out, and bumped BUNBURY. Shortly after, BUNBURY shifted in and bumped FLIP HOSE, resulting in BUNBURY becoming unbalanced, shifting wider, and bumping KAAPTIVE BOUNTY onto BOUQUET DANCER, which became unbalanced and shifted out.
Nearing the 300 metres, SHINKA TAI was held up for clear running on the heels of the weakening FOREST VOODOO.
Shortly after leaving the 300 metres, ZOETEKEN was steadied after being taken in by ALLUSIVE DANCER.
ALLUSIVE DANCER shifted out over the concluding stages. Jockey D Evans was instructed to exercise more care in the future.

Race 4: Class 4 Handicap - 1200 metres
1st: MYDAM TWIST 2nd: BAY OF PLENTY 3rd: BRO 4th: OLD GOLD FOR ME
Due to the unavailability of an apprentice, stewards permitted jockey A Best to replace apprentice B Hull on DON PICCOLO.
BAY OF PLENTY jumped awkwardly.
FILZAO was slow to begin.
Shortly after leaving the 500 metres, OLD GOLD FOR ME shifted in away from DOODA HUCKLEBUCK, became unbalanced and commenced to race awkwardly rolling into the fence on two occasions of its own accord.
THAT’S PALEFACE was held up between the 300 and 100 metres, before obtaining clear running.
Jockey A Best was stood down for the remainder of the meeting by the Club’s medical officer, due to aggravation of an old injury to his right hand.

Race 5: Class 2 Handicap – 1100 metres
1st: FORTIFIED 2nd: JOE DIRT 3rd: CHECK THAT OUT 4th CLOSED OUT
Due to a misunderstanding, jockey G Booth was declared the rider of BECKWORTH. He was replaced by jockey K Yoshida.
Stewards permitted jockey D Evans to replace jockey A Best on CHECK THAT OUT, as A Best was stood down by the Club’s medical officer, due to aggravation of an old injury to his right hand.
Trainer L Manzelmann was fined $50 under (LR70(1)) by stewards, for failing to declare a rider for FORTIFIED by the prescribed time.
CHECK THAT OUT jumped awkwardly.
YO KIDOKI jumped awkwardly, and shortly after, blundered and became unbalanced.
Shortly after the start, CLOSED OUT blundered and became unbalanced.
At the start, BECKWORTH jumped out, taking FORTIFIED out onto YO KIDOKI, who came in contact with JOE DIRT, which shifted in. Both YO KIDOKI and JOE DIRT became unbalanced, and lost ground.
Approaching the 450 metres, SPARSPRI became awkwardly placed on the heels of CHECK THAT OUT, and when steadied, rolled in and contacted the running rail.
A post race veterinary examination on YO KIDOKI, revealed that horse to be lame in the off fore.

Race 6: Class 3 Handicap – 1600 metres
1st: BOB’S BID 2nd: BELLO GINO 3rd: JONOBLE 4th: SPEAK OF SUCCESS
Apprentice D Carrigg was reprimanded by stewards for being unable to claim her full allowance. Due to special circumstances, no further action was taken. However stewards advised D Carrigg that should she come before them again under similar circumstances, they may take action against her licence, and restrict her to the country circuit only.
Stewards permitted apprentice C McIver to replace apprentice D Carrigg on FIRECRACKER.
LACELINE (NZ) was slow to begin, and over-raced in the middle stages.
BELLO GINO began to lose ground over the final stages when under pressure.
Approaching the 1000 metres, LACELINE (NZ), whilst still over-racing, refused to settle, and became awkward to the inside of SPEAK OF SUCCESS, was checked, shifted out, and allowed to stride forward.

Race 7: Class 6 Handicap – 1400 metres
1st: MINING SILVER 2nd: CEARNAIGH 3rd: REGIMENTAL 4th: RED BAY
Trainer A Jones was fined $50 under (LR70(1)) by stewards, for failing to declare a rider for CEARNAIGH by the prescribed time.
Trainer D O’Brien was fined $50 under (LR70(1)) by stewards, for failing to declare a rider for ELDWICK by the prescribed time.
DIFFERENTIAL was obliged to race wide throughout.
Approaching and rounding the first turn, RAINBOW KING hung out.
After leaving the 900 metres, STEAL A MARCH blundered and became unbalanced.
REGIMENTAL was unable to obtain clear running from the 400 to the 250 metres.
A post race veterinary examination revealed that REGIMENTAL suffered an abrasion to the right hock.

GENERAL:
B Hull advised stewards at 12.45pm by phone that he was unable to obtain a full medical clearance, as directed by SCTC stewards on Sunday the 24/7/05. Change of riders are as per the above schedule.


SUMMARY:
