GENERAL:

Trainer D Crouch was fined the sum of $300.00 under AR140B in that he failed to provide the correct advertised gear for his runners in:
Race 1 - VACINTA ROSE (Tongue Control Bit instead of Tongue Tie)
Race 3 - FLOYD PEPPER (Tail Chain)
Race 4 – AKERS (Tail Chain) – 1st Time
All gear changes were announced via the course PA system.









Race 1: ROCK BUILDING SOCIETY F & M CLASS 3 H’CAP - 1000M .
1st – CARNABY SPRINGS 2nd –MORNING GLORY 3rd – LUKANE 4th –VACINTA ROSE.

CRAIGLEA HEAVEN (M Rice) began awkwardly losing ground and was then obliged to race wide throughout the race.

SPELL SONG (App C McIver) was slow to begin.

MISS SANTANA (App L Dillon) which was inclined to lay out in the early stages had to be steadied near 800 metres.

MORNING GLORY (S Quick) shifted out under pressure over the concluding stages.

Race 2: LIONLEIGH HOTEL QTIS 3YO MAIDEN HANDICAP - 1000M.
1st -HONEYBELLE 2nd – NATURAL ENERGY 3rd – TONG MAK 4th – FLYING SILVER.

PRETTY IN PICTURES was declared a late scratching at 9.54am by order of stewards acting on vet’s advice.

Due to a misunderstanding stewards permitted C Beets to be replaced by J Stephens as the rider of WOODFORD ROGUE.

CYCLONE GEORGE which dislodged apprentice C McIver in its preliminary giving him a harmless fall and then galloping for some distance before crashing through the outside running rail near the 1300m was declared a late scratching at 1.52pm by order of stewards. On the announcement of correct weight all monies invested on CYCLONE GEORGE were ordered to be refunded with deductions of 10 cents in the dollar on the face value of all win bets and 10 cents in the dollar on the face value of all place to applicable. A veterinary examination of that gelding revealed minor skin lacerations to both front legs.

WOODFORD ROGUE (J Stephens) was slow to begin.

FLYING SILVER (App D Peisley) which was fractious in the barriers began awkwardly losing ground.

VIVEKA jumped awkwardly losing ground.

Approaching the 500m VIVEKA (App L Dillon) was cramped for room by EL SERENO (N Evans) which shifted out slightly and then shifted in. While stewards noted apprentice L Dillon the rider of VIVEKA was attempting a doubtful run to the inside of EL SERENO, N Evans the rider of EL SERENO was nonetheless advised to exercise more care when shifting ground.

FLYING SILVER (App D Peisley) shifted out under pressure over the last 200 metres.
Race 3: DIPLOCKS COLLISION REPAIR CENTRE MAIDEN H’CAP - 1200M .
1st –HONEY QUEEN 2nd – DUMA STAR 3rd – FLOYD PEPPER 4th-STAR OF COURAGE


HIGHTONIAN which cast a front plate behind the barriers was unable to replated and therefore was permitted to race without both front plates.

DIAMOND EDITION (K Yoshida) jumped awkwardly making contact with its outside barrier gate.

HUNGRY HEART (N Evans) was slow to begin.

CHRYSALLIS (M Rice) jumped awkwardly losing ground.

JESSE BLUE (J Camilleri) raced wide throughout the race and tended to lay in rounding the home turn.

HONEY QUEEN (M Usher) shifted out at the 200m to obtain clear running making contact with AT ODDS (App D Carrigg).

Trainer L Horstmann was questioned by stewards in regards to the improved performance of HONEY QUEEN. Ms Hortsman stated that while it had been her intention to try the mare over a longer distance she did not believe this suited the horse at this stage of its preparation and the drop back in distance and added fitness was a benefit in today’s event as she did not consider it to be a strong form race. Stewards noted her explanation.


Race 4: PETER BOODLE’S QUALITY MEATS CLASS 2 H’CAP - 1200M.
1st – EASY ROAD 2nd – OAKLEIGH 3rd - TOPLAYER 4th –KINGS MIRROR.

AKERS (App T Bannon) and GEE GEE MACGREGOR (M Rice) were both slow to begin.

KINGS MIRROR (App D Carrigg) began awkwardly losing ground.

TOPLAYER (M Usher) began awkwardly.

Approaching the 1100m GEE GEE MACGREGOR (M Rice) had to be steadied when momentarily tightened for room by DEADLY CLANG (App D Peisley) which shifted in. Apprentice Danny Peisley the rider of DEADLY CLANG was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground.

KINGS MIRROR (App D Carrigg) overraced in the middle stages.

STANDING OUT (App C McIver) raced wide throughout the race.

Approaching the 500m TOPLAYER (M Usher), which hung out had to steadied off the heels of INALA SISTERINA (K Yoshida).

EASY ROAD (A Pattillo) shifted out under pressure near the 300m bumping DEADLY CLANG (App D Peisley).

Race 5: KALKA PALMS HOTEL /MOTEL CLASS 4 H’CAP - 1300M.
1st – LINK HOGTHROB 2nd- LACELINE 3rd – MIDNIGHT DESIRE 4th – OUR JIM BEAU.

CROSSING (J Stephens) which was fractious in the barriers jumped in the air as the gates were released losing ground.

DIATINE (M Rice) began awkwardly.

LACELINE (A Pattillo) was held up for clear running leaving 400m until near the 100m.

OUR JIM BEAU (App D Carrigg) lost it’s off hind plate during the event.


Race 6: B & J CAR SALES CLASS 1 H’CAP - 1400M.
1st – BROWNS PLAINS 2nd - SHAZRADAD 3rd – CRAIGLEA TINSEL 4th –BOLD BARASSI

Trainer P Fleming was fined the sum of $100.00 under LR70 for failing to declare K Yoshida as the rider of CRAIGLEA TINSEL by the prescribed time.

TALKING MACHINE (App L Dillon) was slow to begin.

MYOBB STAR (M Usher) overraced in the early stages.

CRAIGLEA TINSEL (K Yoshida) began awkwardly.

Approaching the 1100m THE ROAN RANGER (App C McIver) was tightened for room between TALKING MACHINE (App L Dillon) and SEA DYNASTY (M Evans) which shifted out and as a result THE ROAN RANGER raced ungenerously for a short distance.

Leaving the 1100m SEA DYNASTY (M Evans) was momentarily tightened for room by INTUITIVE LAD (A Pattillo) which shifted in.

CRAIGLEA TINSEL (K Yoshida) threw its head in the air near the 1100m when being restrained.

SEA DYNASTY (M Evans) shifted in near the 700m and again 650m when racing ungenerously inconveniencing MYOBB STAR (M Usher) which had to be steadied. M Evans the rider of SEA DYNASTY was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.


Race 7: XXXX OPEN H’CAP - 1400M.
1st – ADMIRAL SPY 2nd – VICTORY SIREN 3rd – NIGHT CALL 4th – SUNDAE JESTER

SHAKESPEARIAN (App D Carrig) raced wide throughout the race.

An inquiry was opened into an incident near the 1200m into the reason why CEARNAIGH (App C McIver) clipped the heels of GONZO (M Usher). After taking initial evidence from App C McIver (CEARNAIGH), App D Peisley (ADMIRAL SPY) and J Stephens (DANATINA), the inquiry was adjourned until Tuesday 31st January 2006 two hours prior to the start of the first race to enable A Pattillo the rider of SUNDAE JESTER to be present who was granted permission to leave the track due to an early transport departure.

Stewards adjourned a further inquiry into an incident near the 1200m into the reason why both GONZO (M Usher) and SUNDAE JESTER (A Pattillo) were inconvenienced also set to be heard on Tuesday 31st January 2006.
