SUPPLEMENTARY REPORTS:
Steward’s today concluded an adjourned inquiry into the reasons why C Beats failed to arrive on course and fulfil his riding engagement on SHE’S BEAUTIFUL at Emerald Jockey Club on Saturday 19th August 2006. After hearing all of the evidence, C Beats, was fined the sum of $100.00 under AR85B.
Trainer, R Macrae, pleaded guilty to a charge under AR114(a) & (c) and was fined the sum of $300.00 in that he failed to scratch, Race 5, RIN TIN and Race 7, SHIRE GIRL, by the prescribed time.
W Baker, the trainer of Race 1, CLASSIC WINNER, Race 5, GLASS SHOES and Race 6, DABBLIN LANE, was fined the sum of $200.00 under the provisions LR70(1) in that he failed to declare the respective riders for those horses by the prescribed time.
Race 1: CASTLEMAINE PERKINS CLASS 4 H’CAP – 1400M.
1st – STAGE SHAKER 2nd – CROSSING 3rd – CALL ME VICTOR 4th – HAPPY SPOT
Both CLASSIC WINNER (R Kerwin) and WALK THE LINE (W Morris) were slow to begin.
HAPPY SPOT (App L Dillon) began awkwardly.
Approaching the 1000m HAPPY SPOT (App L Dillon) had a tendency to lay in and shifted in brushing WALK THE LINE (W Morris).
Near the 900m CALL ME VICTOR (N Evans) commenced to over race for short distance and had to be steadied off the heels of HAPPY SPOT (App L Dillon) and shift wider on the track.
CALL ME VICTOR (N Evans) hung in under pressure leaving the 350m until the winning post.
Race 2: TED PLATINUM MAIDEN H’CAP – 1600M.
1st – SENTIMENTAL SONG 2nd – MR ROMANELLI 3rd – FLINDERS ANA 4th – KICK
FLINDERS ANA (App Z Landry) was slow to begin.
SPARKLING ASCOT (App D Carrigg) jumped in at the start making contact with LADY SHABANG (J Stephens).
BROKEN CHAIN (App M Radecker) began awkwardly.
Shortly after the start LADY SHABANG (J Stephens) shifted in making contact with KICK (N Evans).
Near the 1300m SPARKLING ASCOT (App D Carrigg) became awkward on the heels of KICK (N Evans) and had to be steadied when tightened for room by LOUIE THE FLY (C Beets) which shifted in and away from TINDAROO STAR (W Morris).
When the pace slackened approaching the 1200m, KICK (N Evans) had to steadied off the heels of DARK PERFECTION (D Evans), SPARKLING ASCOT (App D Carrigg), SENTIMENTAL SONG (App L Dillon), MR ROMANLELI (M Cant) and BEE JAYS MAGIC (App C McIver) which were following were all inconvenienced as a result. D Evans, the rider of DARK PERFECTION was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
REGAL HENRY (App A Coome), CHELSEANN (App T Bannon) and LOUIE THE FLY (C Beets) all raced wide throughout the event.
Race 3: HAHN PREMIUM LIGHT CLASS 2 H’CAP – 1600M.
1st – MADDISON COURT 2nd – DANDY SCENE 3rd – TAMING THE SHREW 4th – TAKE THE CAKE
SMART ZONE (D Evans) was slow to begin.
RUNPHIR (App C McIver) jumped out at the start making contact with MR KISEKI (App T Bannon).
DETONATES (App D Carrigg) began awkwardly.
MR KISEKI (App T Bannon) commenced to over race leaving the 1000m and had to be steadied off the heels of RUNPHIR (App C McIver) near the 800m and as a result shifted in inconveniencing TAMING THE SHREW (L Timson).
Approaching the 800m, RUNPHIR (App C McIver) which had a tendency to lay out had to be steadied and lose ground when momentarily tightened for room by TAKE THE CAKE (App A Coome) which shifted in. A Coome, the rider TAKE THE CAKE was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground.
ADELONG (J Stephens) was disappointed for a run between DETONATES (App D Carrigg) and MERDEX (App L Fyfe) which shifted in slightly when momentarily crowded by MADDISON COURT (App M Radecker) which shifted in under pressure.
DANDY SCENE (M Cant) shifted out under pressure over the concluding stages.
Race 4: TOOHEYS EXTRA DRY CLASS 3 H’CAP – 1200M.
1st – GIGGLING BOY 2nd – STAR CHARIOT 3rd – CLOSED OUT 4th – IRON BRIDGE
INALA SISTERINA (App C McIver) was slow to begin.
STAR CHARIOT (App A Coome) jumped out at the start making contact with LOS ALTOS (App B Young).
C McIver, the rider of INALA SISTERINA, was found guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR137(a) in that near the 800m he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of LOS ALTOS (App B Young) which in turn shifted in tightening the running of FLEET STREET (J Stephens) which had to be checked, and shifted in making contact with the hind quarters of CLOSED OUT (G Booth) which became unbalanced. C McIver’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of three North Queensland meetings to commence at midnight Saturday 26th August 2006 and to expire at midnight Tuesday 5th September 2006.
M Radecker, the rider of IRON BRIDGE, was fined the sum of $100.00 under AR145 in that she weighed in, in excess of half kilogram of her allotted riding weight.
Race 5: HEINEKEN QTIS CLASS 1 H’CAP (1) – 1300M.
1st – KELANCE 2nd – NATURAL ENERGY 3rd – SEQUALO BLUE 4th – ONALAR
RIN TIN was declared a late scratching at 7.56am by order of stewards acting under
AR114 (c).
Both CIGALLO (App L Fyfe) and FAME SECA (App C McIver) were slow to begin.
GLASS SHOES (R Kerwin) which began awkwardly then raced wide throughout the race.
ONALAR (D Evans) commenced to over race approaching the 700m and had to be steadied off the heels of BRAVEHEART (M Cant).
When questioned, apprentice L Fyfe could offer no tangible explanation for the seemingly disappointing performance of CIGALLO, other than the horse may not have been comfortable on the firmer surface of today’s track compared to it’s previous starts on softer tracks. Steward’s noted his explanation.
A post race veterinary inspection of CIGALLO failed to reveal any abnormalities.
GLASS SHOES lost its near hind plate during the race.
Race 6: HAHN PREMIUM QTIS CLASS 1 H’CAP (2) – 1300M.
1st – TIME TO STAR 2nd – FAR FAR AWAY 3rd – COFFEE TIME 4th – STORMY BEND
TIME TO STAR (App L Dillon) was slow to begin.
DABBLIN LANE (W Morris) which had a tendency lay in for the majority of the race, shifted in despite the efforts of its rider leaving the 900m, crowding FAR FAR AWAY (App D Carrigg) in onto LEPRECHAUN LASS (R Kerwin) which had to be steadied near the 700m.
Both SUNSHINE STAR (App C McIver) and DABBLIN LANE (W Morris) raced wide in the early and middle stages.
A Coome, the rider of MULESKINNER, was found guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR137(a) in that near the 800m he permitted his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of STORMY BEND (App Z Landry) which in turn shifted in making heavy contact with the inside running rail and had to be checked. A Coome’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of two North Queensland meetings to commence at midnight Saturday 26th August 2006 and to expire at midnight Saturday 2nd September 2006.
FAR FAR AWAY (App D Carrigg) lay out under pressure over the concluding stages.
A Coome, the rider of MULESKINNER, was fined the sum of $100.00 under AR140A in that he weighed out without a girth and as such had to be reweighed.
B Johnson, the trainer of STORMY BEND,reported to steward's that the gelding was found to have a laceration to its off fore tendon after a post race inspection.
Race 7: XXXX BITTER FILLIES & MARES CLASS 2 H’CAP – 1070M.
1st – MILORA MISS 2nd – BLISS MISS 3rd – WHO’S THE BOSS 4th – LEA LISA
SHIRE GIRL was declared a late scratching at 7.56am by order of stewards acting under AR114 (c).
BLISS MISS (M Barnham) was slow to begin.
SHE’S A MODEL (D Evans) jumped in the air as the start was effected losing ground.
MILORA MISS (App L Dillon) was held up for clear running leaving the 300m until near the 150m.
GO ROCK AND ROBIN (App B Young) raced wide throughout the race.
Race 8: XXXX GOLD CLASS 6 H’CAP – 1070M.
1st – YO KIDOKI 2nd – BELLO GINO 3rd – BIG DAVE 4th – BOB’S BID
The start was delayed when BELLO GINO became fractious in the barriers and was momentarily cast. BELLO GINO underwent a veterinary inspection and passed fit to start.
BOB’S BID which was positioned next to BELLO GINO was also inspected by the clubs veterinary surgeon and passed fit to start.
MAGIC SOIREE (S Quick) was slow to begin.
BELLO GINO (D Johnston) jumped in the air as the start was effected.
MYDAM TWIST (App L Dillon) raced wide throughout the race.
