Race 1: MAGIC MILLION VEHICLE OF CHOICE MAIDEN H’CAP – 1500M.
1st – HENRYHAWK 2nd – JUST CONNIE 3rd – SORROW 4th – LUSTING
LUSTING (D Johnston) over raced in the early stages of the race.
Near the 1100m SORROW (App L Dillon) shifted in making contact with inside running rail and had to be steadied, CARMEL’S GEM (M Cant) which was following became awkward on the heels of that runner and as a result shifted in making heavy contact with the inside running rail.
HENRYHAWK (App A Coome) lay in under pressure over the final 350m and leaving the 200m shifted in despite the efforts of its rider placing JUST CONNIE (L Timson) in restricted room between HENRYHAWK and SORROW (App L Dillon) and as a result had to be momentarily steadied.
LUSTING (D Johnston) shifted out under pressure over the concluding stages.
The club’s veterinary surgeon reported that CARMEL’S GEM had suffered a bleeding attack during the event and as such trainer A Jones was advised that the horse would incur the mandatory 3 month ban from racing under AR53A. A swab sample was taken.
Race 2: R.M WILLIAMS MAGIC MILLIONS OFFICAL OUTFITTER CLASS 2 H’CAP – 1500M.
1st – ONLY A FLING 2nd – MERDEX 3rd – I’M FABULOUS 4th – REAF SHAR BAYE
CABLE HOGUE (App C McIver) was tightened for room at the start between SHAKERATO (R Goltz) and ONLY A FLING (D Craven) which both shifted ground.
CASH ‘N’ GO (L Timson) shifted out abruptly on jumping away and lost considerable ground. S Brown, the trainer of CASH ‘N’ GO was advised a warning would be placed on that horses barrier manners.
REAF SHAR BAYE (C Whiteley) jumped in the air as the start was effected and raced wide in the early and middle stages.
REQUEST THIS (M Cant) was tightened for room shortly after the start between AERO LASS (R Mules) and MERDEX ((App L Dillon) which began awkwardly and shifted out after receiving a bump from I’M FABULOUS (App T Bannon) which shifted out.
Near the 1100m CABLE HOGUE (App C McIver) shifted in of its own accord becoming awkward on the inside running rail and as a result crashed through the running rail. C McIver was examined by the clubs ambulance officers reporting no apparent injuries. As a result of injuries CABLE HOGUE was euthanized on humane grounds. Stewards inspected the area of the track near the 1100m following the incident deeming all aspects to be safe.
AERO LASS (R Mules) shifted in under pressure approaching the 200m crowding CASH ‘N’ GO (L Timson) and continued to lay in crowding that runner over the final 150m. R Mules, the rider of AERO LASS, was reminded of his obligation to straighten his mount when shifting ground.
REQUEST THIS (M Cant) had to be momentarily steadied near the 200m when disappointed for a run between MERDEX (App L Dillon) and REAF SHAR BAYE (C Whiteley) which shifted out under pressure.
EMPIRE ROAD (S Quick) raced wide for the majority of the event.

SPIN TWINS (N Evans) shifted out around the heels of SADLERS RHYTHM (M Bennett) leaving the 500m and shortly after blundered.
N Evans when questioned into the seemingly disappointing performance of SPIN TWINS could offer no explanation other than the horse failed to respond to his riding after blundering near 500m. Stewards noted his explanation. A post race veterinary examination of SPIN TWINS failed to reveal any abnormalities and a swab sample was taken.

W Morris, when questioned into the seemingly disappointing performance of RUNNING SCARED stated that in his opinion the horse having it first run back from a lengthy spell may have run out of condition. Stewards noted his explanation. L Rowe, the trainer of RUNNING SCARED, was given the benefit of the doubt but was nonetheless admonished in that the horse was removed from the course prior to the required time before a veterinary examination could be performed and was reminded of his obligations under AR140 (b) to report to stewards anything which might have affected the running of their horse in a race.

PLUCKY PRAWN (App C McIver) hung out leaving the 800m turn inconveniencing BONZA CROP (S Galloway), LIGHTS OFF (R Goltz) which was following had to be steadied as a result. PLUCKY PRAWN continued to race ungenerously until near the 400m.
CARRY ON DOCTOR (J Taylor) which raced wide for the majority of the event shifted in slightly near the 500m causing BONZA CROP (S Galloway) to shift in and away from that runner tightening the running of LION BRAVE (W Morris) which had to be steadied. J Taylor, the rider of CARRY ON DOCTOR, was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
CASH IN A HURRY (K Pope) raced wide for the majority of the event and commenced to race greenly leaving the 600m and had to be momentarily steadied off the heels of LIGHTS OFF (R Goltz) which shifted out near the 500m.

As J Welburn was indisposed he was replaced by K Pope as the rider of SRIETTE. J Welburn was advised he must obtain a medical clearance of fitness prior to his next race riding engagement.
SRIETTE (K Pope) commenced to race fiercely leaving the 800m and shifted out near the 600m forcing LITTLE TOFFY (App T Bannon) wider on the track. EYELASHES (N Evans) which was following shifted out as a result taking MEHI BELLE (L Timson) out on to WICCA WEDDING (R Mules). M Attard, the trainer of SRIETT, through his stable representative S Attard, was advised that the mare must perform in an official barrier trial over a distance no shorter than 1000m to the satisfaction of stewards prior to its next start.
EYELASHES (N Evans) was disappointed for a run leaving the 200m between LITTLE TOFFY (App T Bannon) and

Due to a misunderstanding S Watkin was declared as the rider of MAGIC SOUREE, and was replaced by R Goltz.
CRAIGLEA EMMA (C Whiteley) was fractious in the barriers prior to the start and began awkwardly.
DYNAMIC DANCING (App A Coome) was tightened for room shortly after the start between MAGIC SOIREE (R Goltz) and TENZERO (R Mules) which shifted in.
On return to scale a protest was lodged by C Whiteley, rider of the 2nd placegetter, CRAIGLEA EMMA, against TENZERO (R Mules) being declared the winner, alleging interference from the 250m until the winning post. After taking evidence from the parties concerned and viewing the official video, stewards were of the opinion that near the 200m SUNTANNED (L Timson) shifted out taking CRAIGLEA EMMA (C Whiteley) out onto TENZERO (R Mules) resulting in CRAIGLEA EMMA becoming unbalanced. CRAIGLEA EMMA then raced in restricted room as a result of both SUNTANNED and TENZERO both shifting ground until near the winning post. While stewards acknowledged that TENZERO had shifted in slightly resulting in contact with CRAIGLEA EMMA they could not be satisfied that the interference could be wholly attributed to TENZERO and the objection was dismissed and correct weight was semaphored on the judges posted numbers. At a subsequent inquiry, L Timson, the rider of SUNTANNED was advised show more care in similar circumstances.
ALL WINNERS, CARMEL’S GEM, SPIN TWINS & CONTESTED BID WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED
