1st – Summer In The City 2nd – Craiglea Pursuit 3rd – Lukin 4th – Trust The Moment
After arriving behind the barriers CEETHESUNRISE (R. Faehr) was kicked by another runner. The horse was examined by the Club’s veterinary surgeon and passed fit to take its place in the field.
When the start was effected BANGLES FOR BEC (App. M. O’Brien) stood flat-footed and lost considerable ground. Connections were advised that a further barrier certificate must be furnished prior to the mare’s next race start.
At the start GENDARME (App. A. Taylor) and CRAIGLEA MARILYN (B. Stewart) lost ground when severely tightened for room between LUKIN (A. Pattillo), which shifted in, and TRUST THE MOMENT (R. Hall), which shifted out.
TOP PICK (C. Whiteley) was slow to begin.
In the middle stages BANGLES FOR BEC (App. M. O’Brien) and LORD CIRDEC (T. Bannon) were inclined to over-race and had to be steadied from heels.
Near the 700 metres SUMMER IN THE CITY (App. L. Dillon) had to be steadied when tightened for room to the inside of CRAIGLEA MARILYN (B. Stewart), which shifted in.
Leaving the 700 metres CRAIGLEA PURSUIT (D. Evans) shifted out, taking CEETHESUNRISE (R. Faehr) wider.
From the 400 metres onwards STUNDER (App. A. Butler) was held up and unable to gain clear running.
Over the concluding stages LIKEABATOUTOF HELL (App. K. Mizobe) was held up for clear running.
After passing the winning post LUKIN (A. Pattillo) broke down in the off fore fetlock and was euthanased on humane ground.
A post-race veterinary examination of CRAIGLEA MARILYN (B. Stewart) did not reveal any significant abnormalities.

Mizobe) resulting in App. Mizobe having to take hold of his mount, which clipped heels and blundered. Jockey Spinks was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence at midnight on Tuesday 5th May 2009, up to and including midnight in 14th May 2009, a period covering 8 meetings.

SIXTY MINUTES (G. Baker), which was inclined to over-race in the early stages, was steadied from heels near the 800 metres and consequently hung out obliging FALVEROSA (App. A.
