Stewards today concluded an inquiry into a swab sample number 41319, which was provided by jockey Dale Missen at the Sunshine Coast Turf Club on 21 March 2009. After taking further evidence from jockey Missen, he was charged under AR81A(1), in that the urine sample when analysed was found to contain the banned substance frusemide. D. Missen’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 3 months, to commence at midnight, 6 June and to expire at midnight, 23 August. In assessing penalty stewards took into account jockey Missen had already been stood down for 2 weeks prior to a clear sample being provided.

Ist Fame Dancer 2nd Truthful Lea 3rd Truthful 4th - Stunder
NIMBIN (D. Green) was slow to begin.
SALLY JO (J. Stephens) was tightened for room at the start between TRUTHFUL (A. Pattillo), which jumped away awkwardly, and RESURRECTED (C. Whiteley), which was taken in by STUNDER (A. This tightening continued until a point approaching the 1300m when both RESURRECTED and SALLY JO were forced to be checked, resulting in SALLY JO clipping the heels of TRUTHFUL. Whilst no one rider could be held responsible for this incident, jockey A. Pattillo, rider of TRUTHFUL, was advised that in similar circumstances he should stop riding and straighten his mount sooner than he did on this occasion.
Near the 1100m, TRUTHFUL had to be steadied to avoid the heels of STUNDER, which shifted in and away from LORD CIRDIC (T. Bannon), which in turn shifted in and away from BATTERIES (B. Evans), which shifted in.
