Jockey J. Stanley was fined the sum of $300 under AR85B in that he failed to fulfil 5 riding engagements at the above meeting.

As B. Stewart was to be overweight on COURTESSA in Race 1 and SEBASTIEN in Race 7, riding changes were made as per the Stewards Summary Sheet. B. Stewart was fined $300.
Race 1: XXXX Gold Maiden Handicap- 1200 metres
1st Courtessa 2nd Western York 3rd Wooden Eye 4th- Cally Greenlake
RED MISSILE (A. Taylor) was tightened for room on jumping away between RED LION LASS (J. Stanley) and COURTESSA (D. Simmons), both of which shifted ground at the start.
REDRAN (T. Bannon) was also tightened for room on jumping away between KISSMYCASH (A. Coome) and MRSOOTY (L. Dillon) when both horses shifted ground.
PEBS MAGIC (T. O'Hara), BARALABA BABE (A. Butler) and DUTCH PICCOLO (D. Green) were all slow to begin.
At approximately the 900m, WESTERN YORK (K.Wharton) hung out from the heels of SHOVISE (M. Cullen). In this incident, CALLY GREENLAKE (S. Evans) had to be checked and lost ground as a consequence. RED LION LASS, which was following, was also hampered.
Near the 300m, COURTESSA shifted outwards to obtain clear running and inconvenienced REDRAN. D. Simmons, rider of COURTESSA, was advised to exercise more care.
CRYSCLANG (R. Hall) raced wide throughout.
Apprentice A. Butler was questioned regarding his riding out of BARALABE BABE over the concluding stages. A. Butler was reminded of his obligations regarding riding his mount right out the line.
Trainer C. Garland reported that MRSOOTY was exhibiting signs of jarring up on returning to his stables.
Race 2: Patlaw Alarm Monitoring Class 1 Handicap- 1600 metres
1st A Boy Called Sue 2nd Galaxy Stalker 3rd Brom Star 4th- Sesame Street
Trainer G. Philpot advised stewards that TOMISLAV would be ridden quiet if possible. A public announcement was made to this effect. TOMISLAV was ridden accordingly.
LIKEABATOUTOFHELL (H. O’Hara) jumped inwards at the start, taking BLUE EGO (A. Butler), A BOY CALLED SUE (D. Missen) and NOTABLE LEGEND (R. Hall) inwards, which resulted in TOMISLAV (S. Sheargold) being tightened and losing ground.
BROM STAR (K.Wharton) was slow to begin.
At approximately the 1000m, PRANT CALLER (T. Bannon) commenced to over race rounding the turn and had to be restrained from the heels of TOMISLAV.
GUNPOWDER ‘n’ LEAD (C.McIver) was inclined to lay out throughout.
BLUE EGO raced wide for the majority of the event.
Correct weight was delayed when D. Simmons, rider of GALAXY STALKER, wished to view the stewards patrol video to ascertain if he had grounds to lodge a protest. D. Simmons declined to lodge an objection.
Race 3: Patlaw Cash Carry QTIS 600 2YO Handicap- 1100 metres
1st– Mundi Gully 2nd Savannah 3rd Overboard 4th- Jedilad
At the start, DARK HOMBRE (J. Stanley) was tightened for room between CRAIGLEA BARKLY (C.McIver) and JEDILAD (S. Evans) both of which shifted ground.
Shortly after the start, DARK HOMBRE was inclined to lay in onto CRAIGLEA BARKLY for a short distance.
SAVANNAH DAWN (D. Simmons) and MUNDI GULLY (D. Whitmore) were both tightened for room at the start between TURF TSAR (D. Green) and IRON EAGLE (B. Stewart), both of which shifted ground.
Jockey S. Evans reported that JEDILAD raced greenly in the early stages and made contact with the running rail near the 800m.
Near the 650m, IRON EAGLE laid in momentarily, resulting in OVERBOARD (M. Cullen) being inconvenienced and having to be steadied. Jockey B. Stewart, rider of IRON EAGLE, was advised to exercise more care.
IRON EAGLE was inclined to shift ground from approximately the 400m and laid in badly over the final 100m, resulting in its rider being unable to ride his mount out to the finish.
A post race veterinary examination of OUR TOM CAT and IRON EAGLE failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
Race 4: Patlaw Alarms Class 1 Handicap- 1200 metres
1st Kegney 2nd Top Messiah 3rd Plandice 4th – War Office
The start of this race was delayed to allow for the completion of a race at another venue.
PLANDICE (L. Dillon) was slow to begin.
Stewards inquired into an incident which occurred near the 900m. Subsequently, B. Stewart, rider of KEGNEY, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding, in that at that point he allowed his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of WAR OFFICE (S. Evans), which resulted in that horse being checked and losing its position. In this incident, WAR OFFICE shifted outwards, resulting in TOP MESSIAH (M. Radecker) and WHATZAHMATA (K. Wharton) being taken wider on the track. WHATZAHMATA then raced wide for the remainder of the race. B. Stewart was suspended from riding in races from m/n Thursday 22 April 2010 up to and including 2 May 2010, a period covered by 8 meetings.
From approximately the 600m, EASY PICKING (A. Butler) was retired from the race and failed to finish. A veterinary examination of EASY PICKING revealed the horse to have strained its off fore tendon. Trainer L. Sullivan will be advised that a veterinary clearance would be required prior to its next race start or trial.
Race 5: Patlaw Patrols Class 4 Handicap- 970 metres
1st Falvalea 2nd Black Angus 3rd Miss Mulley 4th- Cawdor
ZENACITY (R. Hall) was slow to begin.
At approximately the 700m, BLACK ANGUS (D. Simmons) laid in momentarily, despite the efforts of its rider, resulting in M. Radecker, rider of BEAT THE BULLSEYE, having to take hold of her mount and as a result BEAT THE BULLSEYE overreacted and lost ground.
Approaching the finish line, BEAT THE BULLSEYE laid out across the heels of MISS MULLEY (J. Stephens) and had to be checked.
Race 6: Patlaw Guards Class 6 Plate- 1100 metres
1st Prince Leo 2nd Cannyclimb 3rd Dinero Rapido 4th- Growsir
GROWSIR (A. Butler) and SOUNDSLIKEJAZZ (R. Hall) were a little slow to begin.
HIGH DEE (H. O’Hara) raced wide throughout.
Stewards questioned apprentice A. Butler in regards to the performance of GROWSIR. A. Butler stated that the gelding travelled well throughout, however was unable to sprint when placed under pressure in the straight and had a tendency to shift out under pressure from the 300m which required him to stop riding and straighten on a number of occasions. A post race veterinary examination of GROWSIR failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
Race 7: Patrick Paterson Open Handicap- 1300 metres
1st Fleet The Bongo 2nd Lion Brave 3rd Forade 4th-Classy Crystal
Stewards declared STARRY DANCER a late scratching at 9.06 am. Trainer D. Hansen was fined the sum of $200 for failing to scratch the horse by the prescribed time.
Stewards acceded to a request from trainer D. Hansen to replace T. Bannon as the rider of LION BRAVE. D. Simmons replaced T. Bannon as the rider of that horse. Stewards acceded to an application from jockey Bannon to claim a losing ride fee and any prize money percentage gained if applicable.
TELFIRE (R. Hall) was a little slow to begin.
FINAL DEMAND (A. Taylor) raced 3 wide during the early and middle stages.
FLEET THE BONGO (A. Butler) commenced to over race in the middle stages.
Stewards will inquire into an incident which occurred at approximately the 600m, which resulted in MONTSERRAT (C. McIver) losing ground.
Near the 500m, CALYPSO MOON (K. Wharton), when shifting out to obtain clear running, bumped TELFIRE (R. Hall).
