Race 1: Callaghan Park Class 2 Handicap- 1500 metres
1st Speedskater 2nd Industrialism 3rd Kilante 4th- Team Macaroma
SIR VAN TEES (C. Pye) jumped away awkwardly.
Stewards questioned jockey T. O'Hara in relation to the performance of BANKERS DAUGHTER. Jockey O'Hara could offer no tangible explanation, however she felt that the distance may not have been suitable at this stage of its preparation and when placed under pressure at the home turn the mare failed to run on as its customary pattern. Trainer J. Wehlow reported that the mare would now be sent for a spell. A post-race veterinary examination of BANKERS DAUGHTER revealed no abnormalities.
Jockey O. Turpin, the rider of KILANTE, was fined $100 for failing to weigh in 3rd.
Race 2: XXXX Gold QTIS 3YO Maiden Handicap- 1050 metres
1st Warrior Della Sera 2nd Maleaton 3rd The Skater 4th- Marauding Hill
CAT TORQUE (J. Stanley) jumped awkwardly and shifted out.
RED ACE (D. Tanti) was slow into stride.
BOTH EARS (O. Turpin) jumped away awkwardly and when corrected shifted in and bumped MARAUDING HILL (D. Simmons), which lost some ground.
Near the 800m THE SKATER (C. Pye) hung out on to the heels of MALEATON (A. Coome) and when restrained lost ground.
Also at the 800m WARRIOR DELLA SERA (D. Missen) shifted out and bumped VAULT BREAKER which became unbalanced.
CAT TORQUE raced wide for the majority of the event.
Race 3: www.callaghanpark.com.au Class 6 Handicap- 1050 metres
1st Fanciful 2nd Left Behind 3rd Martiros 4th- Falvadore
LEFT BEHIND (A. Coome) and FANCIFUL (R. Wiggins) made contact on jumping.
SWIFT 'N' DAPPER (J. Kropp) and HEZA FLASHMAN (O. Turpin) raced wide throughout.
FANCIFUL shifted in under pressure over the concluding stages.
Apprentice J. Kropp reported that SWIFT 'N' DAPPER lay in rounding the home turn and over the final 200m continued to lay in.
R. Wiggins, the rider of FANCIFUL, was fined $200 for use of his whip in a forehand manner on more than 5 occasions prior to the 100m.
Race 4: Rockhampton Jockey Club Class 1 Handicap - 1050 metres
1st Frankie Me Boy 2nd Puro Sangue 3rd Ned's Outlaw 4th- Warden Ben
DAMALA (C. Priest) jumped awkwardly and shifted out at the start.
Near the 700m HAWKINS HILL (L. Finlay) hung out and was steadied from the heels of MONASHEE EXPRESS (N. Patchett).
PURO SANGUE (J. Kropp) commenced to lay in from the 150m and continued over the concluding stages.
NEDERBURG (C. Whiteley), YAN YAN ASTA (O. Turpin) and DANE KING (D. Simmons) raced wide throughout.
Trainer S. Lee reported that consideration would be given to sending HAWKINS HILL for a spell.
Race 5: XXXX Summer Bright Maiden Handicap- 1400 metres
1st Takotna 2nd Quirt 3rd Piccolotto 4th- Toy Jet
PICCOLOTTO (C. Priest) and FLYING ENCORE (O. Turpin) were slow to begin.
Near the 900m BLUE PEREGRINE (C. Pye) commenced to overrace and when restrained, PHIL DOESN'T CARE, which was following, improved and was checked from that runner's heels and shifted out, at which time GOIN OFF (J. Stephens) laid in and was checked from the heels of PHIL DOESN'T CARE and lost some ground.
Leaving the 900m NORDIC WARRIOR (D. Philpot), which was overracing, hung out.
Near the 200m TOY JET (D. Tanti) laid in momentarily hampering DELARGO SCENE (A. Taylor).
ROCK D'OR (N. Patchett), BLACK SMOKE (C. Whiteley), PHIL DOESN'T CARE (A. Coome) and REMARKABLE (J. Kropp) raced wide throughout.
Race 6: Become a Member of the RJC Open Handicap- 1400 metres
1st Red Story 2nd Paris Boy 3rd Forade 4th- Cocktail Supreme
Stewards will seek further information regarding the late declaration of D. Philpot as the rider of SOBEIT.
CRAIGLEA BLONDIE (L. Finlay) was slow to begin.
CRAIGLEA BLONDIE and FOREVER MORE (S. Wiseman) raced wide throughout.
COCKTAIL SUPREME (C. Pye) raced ungenerously in the middle stages.
Race 7: Woollam Constructions Class 3 Handicap- 1200 metres
1st Klitschko 2nd Tedika 3rd Fields Of Plenty 4th- Monaleah
MONALEAH (D. Tanti) jumped out at the start, taking KLITSCHKO (A. Taylor), LONG ROAD TO GLORY (C. Priest) and ANGEL FORCE (M. Cant) out, which caused FIELDS OF PLENTY (O. Turpin) to be forced out and steadied from the heels of MOUNTAIN KING (J. Kropp).
BOSE (D. Simmons) jumped in the air at the start and lost some ground.
LONG ROAD TO GLORY and BOSE raced wide throughout.
Near the 150m KLITSCHKO shifted out and bumped MONALEAH.
KLITSCHKO shifted ground under pressure over the concluding stages.
M. Cant reported that ANGEL FORCE raced flat and failed to run on over the concluding stages.
