------------

Race 1: XXXX Gold QTIS 2YO Handicap - 1050 metres
1st CRAIGLEA GINGER 2nd RISHONA 3rd NOTABLE NOVA 4th - FOR OF US

When Jockey D. Missen, the declared rider for CRAIGLEA MANDY, had weighed out it was noted that he had done so without irons and a surcingle. After being reweighed it was noted that Jockey Missen was overweight and subsequently was replaced by Jockey N. Patchett. Jockey Missen pleaded guilty to a charge under A.R.175 (k) for negligently weighing out without irons, and was fined $100. Furthermore, Jockey Missen was found guilty of a charge under A.R. 120(b) for being overweight. Jockey Missen was fined a further $100. In assessing penalty stewards took into account Jockey Missen's good recent record in regard to weight related matters.

KOKO CLANG (L. Dillon) was slow to begin and shortly after the start appeared to shorten stride, commenced to lose contact with the field and finished a considerable distance behind the remainder of the field. A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the colt was sore in both forelegs. Trainer L. Sainsbury was advised that he must provide a veterinary clearance for KOKO CLANG and that the horse must perform to the satisfaction of the stewards in a barrier trial before being permitted to race again.

At the start NOTABLE NOVA (App. C. Pye) shifted out, and took CRYSTAL MATES (D. Tanti) out onto DIAMONDS WITH TIME (S. Sheargold), which was hampered.

In the middle stages NOTABLE NOVA (App. C. Pye) over-raced.

Rounding the turn at the 600 metres RISHONA (S. McGovern) rolled out, then near the 500 metres shifted in, and caused App. C. Pye to take hold of NOTABLE NOVA, which lost some ground.

Leaving the 500 metres CRAIGLEA GINGER (T. Bannon) shifted out, and took RISHONA (S. McGovern) wider.

At the 200 metres CRAIGLEA GINGER (T. Bannon) and NOTABLE NOVA (App. C. Pye) bumped.

Over the concluding stages FOR OF US (C. McIver) raced greenly.

Jockey D. Tanti reported that CRYSTAL MATES was inclined to hang out throughout the event.

CRAIGLEA MANDY (N. Patchett) and STROM'S COMING (A. Coome) raced wide throughout.

Upon returning to the enclosure it was noted that RISHONA (S. McGovern) had sustained a laceration to its near hind cannon.

Race 2: Callaghan Park Open Handicap - 1100 metres
1st DINERO RAPIDO 2nd COCKTAIL SUPREME 3rd RED STORY 4th - COLUMATE

RED STORY (L. Dillon) was slow to begin, lost ground and raced three wide throughout.

Race 3: XXXX Summer Bright Class 2 Handicap - 1100 metres
1st -THE REGAL ONE 2nd RYTARGA 3rd SPURS'N'ALL 4th - LIBERTY TYCOON

At the start DUAN ALLIBAR (D. Tanti) was tightened between WINCHMORE LASS (App. C. Priest) and FRANKIE ME BOY (App. A. Taylor), both of which shifted ground. After making contact with DUAN ALLIBAR, FRANKIE ME BOY shifted out and hampered THE REGAL ONE (App. J. King).

RYTARGA (S. McGovern) began awkwardly and shifted out onto SANSIRA (App. J. Kropp).

Stewards sought an explanation from Apprentice A. Butler as to the tactics adopted on SPURS'N'ALL. Apprentice Butler stated that he had not been given specific instructions except to have the horse positioned where it was comfortable. Apprentice Butler was of the opinion that SPURS'N'ALL did not begin as well as it had at its most recent start and he had expected it to be positioned midfield or slightly worse. When questioned as to the horse's position in the straight, Apprentice Butler said that he was able to obtain clear running in the early part of the straight, however near the 400 metres he was committed to a run to the outside of WINCHMORE LASS (App. C. Priest), which shifted ground, which required him to stop riding for a short distance. Apprentice Butler added that when a clear run became available leaving the 200 metres he placed the gelding under pressure and it found the line well.

Stewards offered Apprentice A. Taylor the opportunity to explain the performance of FRANKIE ME BOY. Apprentice Taylor stated that though the gelding travelled well throughout the event, she was unable to offer any explanation for its disappointing overall performance, which was below her expectations. A post-race veterinary examination of FRANKIE ME BOY did not reveal any abnormalities. Stewards will follow up on the condition of the gelding from trainer A. Clark.

Race 4: Rockhampton Jockey Club Class 3 Handicap - 1600 metres
1st - GOLD COAST GIRL 2nd MARICOPA 3rd POWER TO EXCEED 4th - JAMESON AICH

At the start BOTH (D. Tanti) jumped out and bumped TREPAN (App. C. Pye), and when shifted in made contact with MARICOPA (L. Dillon).

In the early stages DONE ALL DONE (S. Sheargold) commenced to pull hard and near the 1000 metres rolled in, which resulted in DAMN GOOD IDEA (D. Missen) having to be steadied.

When questioned as to the reason for DONE ALL DONE racing in a more forward position than was its usual racing pattern, Jockey S. Sheargold explained that he had been instructed to ride the gelding midfield or worse, however after beginning well the gelding took up a forward position of its own accord and commenced to race fiercely. The explanation was noted.

Race 5: XXXX Bitter Maiden Plate - 1400 metres
1st MAY 2nd KILWINNING LUCK 3rd CHEATIN’ CHARLIE 4th - DARK HOMBRE

Stewards accepted the explanation tendered by trainer J. Pointon for the late declaration of Jockey D. Gill as the rider of WHO'S THE DUDE NOW.

KILWINNING LUCK (App. C. Pye) and MR PISTACHIO (S. McGovern) bumped on jumping.

WHO'S THE DUDE NOW (D. Gill) was slow to begin.

CRANKY MAN (T. Bannon) was slow into stride.

Near the 1200 metres CHEATIN' CHARLIE (S. Sheargold) shifted out onto DUAN THEO (App. C. Priest), which commenced to over-race. KILWINNING LUCK commenced to over-race at this stage and was steadied from the heels of DUAN THEO. KILWINNING LUCK continued to over-race until near the 900 metres. DUAN THEO continued to over-race until near the 600 metres and had to be restrained from the heels of DUAN THEO.

At the 300 metres MR PISTACHIO (S. McGovern) shifted out.

Leaving the 250 metres ISTANATI (A. Coome) shifted out abruptly, and obliged Jockey Coome to stop riding and straighten his mount.

In the home straight DUAN THEO (App. C. Priest) raced greenly.

Race 6: Become a Member of the RJC Class 5 Handicap - 970 metres
1st MUNDI GULLY 2nd IMPALA 3rd ZAHMAO 4th - LEFT BEHIND

The declaration of correct weight was delayed to allow Apprentice C. Priest, the rider of ZAHMAO which finished third, and trainer D. Schultz to view the official patrol films with a view to lodging an objection. After doing so, Apprentice Priest elected not to proceed with an objection and correct weight was declared.

BIG IS BIG (App. J. King) was slow to begin and shortly after the start shifted in slightly, clipped the heels of WEST GINDIAN (S. Sheargold) and blundered. BIG IS BIG then raced wide throughout the event.

Stewards inquired into an incident that occurred approaching the winning post. It was established that MUNDI GULLY (C. McIver) had shifted in and caused App. C. Priest, the rider of ZAHMAO, to stop riding, check and lose some ground. Jockey C. McIver was advised that he must make a greater effort to keep his mounts straight when shifting ground.

Race 7: Hahn Super Dry 3.5 Class 1 Handicap - 1300 metres
1st CARRY THE MING 2nd DANE KING 3rd DOUBLE YOUR BAG 4th - BEAUX STRATA

Trainer M. Barnham was fined $100 under A.R.140B (3) for failing to notify a change of gear for PROFANITY by the prescribed time, namely, the addition of blinkers and the removal of winkers. Public announcements were made advising of the change of gear.

At the start, MAGIC TURBO (D. Gill) jumped in onto PROFANITY (D. Tanti).

Near the 900 metres STANSAVANNA (L. Dillon) commenced to hang out and hampered IRON EAGLE (S. McGovern), which was taken wider. STANSAVANNA then raced wide for the remainder of the event.

Approaching the 600 metres PRINCELY RED (App. C. Pye) bumped OUTBACK SAPPER (A. Coome) in and the gelding was steadied from the heels of CARRY THE MING (App. C. Priest).

MAGIC TURBO (D. Gill) raced wide throughout.

When asked for an explanation as to the performance of OUTBACK SAPPER, Jockey A. Coome stated that the gelding travelled well throughout, but when placed under pressure near the 500 metres failed to respond to his riding. Jockey Coome added that he had placed OUTBACK SAPPER under pressure at an earlier stage than usual and was of the opinion that the gelding was uncomfortable racing inside other runners. A post-race veterinary examination of OUTBACK SAPPER did not reveal any significant abnormalities. Stewards will seek further information from trainer Ms S. Finn.

Race 8: Join Our 100 Club for 2012 Class 4 Handicap - 1200 metres
1st - CARMENATOR 2nd NOBLE LUSTRE 3rd QUEEN OF HAPPINESS 4th - TAMILDA

When Jockey S. Sheargold was to be overweight due to fluid intake during the day, Jockey T. Bannon was substituted as the rider of JOE KWILA. Stewards did not impose any penalty, bearing in mind the weather conditions on the day.

BEARHART GOLD (C. McIver), which had been fractious whilst parading and on exiting the enclosure got under the plastic railing, was examined by the Club's veterinary surgeon and cleared to take its place in the field.

After being loaded into the barriers QUEEN OF HAPPINESS (D. Gill) got its off hind leg onto the barrier partition. The mare was removed from the barriers, examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to take its place in the field.

At the start JOE KWILA (T. Bannon) shifted out onto TAMILDA (App. C. Priest).

NOBLE LUSTRE (App. J. Kropp) began awkwardly.

In the middle stages FLYING TEQUILA (App. A. Taylor) lay out.

Leaving the 800 metres QUEEN OF HAPPINESS (D. Gill) improved onto the heels of FLYING TEQUILA (App. A. Taylor) and had to be steadied.

Near the 300 metres FLYING TEQUILA shifted out to obtain clear running and was momentarily held up on the heels of TAMILDA (App. C. Priest).

MEASURED (App. A. Butler) raced three wide throughout.

ALL WINNERS WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED
