----------
Race 1: Ray White City For Carly-Mae Pye Maiden Handicap- 1400 metres
1st - SPANISH MAIDEN - 2nd - DARK MATTER - 3rd - JUST CALL ME LOUIE - LIGHTNING ARTIST
SPANISH MAIDEN - Began awkwardly. When questioned regarding the seemingly improved performance, trainer C. Thompson explained that following its run on 20th September he had a blood analysis carried out, which revealed that the mare was recovering from a virus and had been treated. At the mare's subsequent start, at Rockhampton on 26th October, the mare finished the race off well. Mr Thompson was of the opinion that the step up in distance contributed to the improved performance today. Mr Thompson was reprimanded under AR. 140B for failing to report a condition that may have affected the horse's performance.
CHAIN THE GATE - Near the 700 metres was restrained from heels. In the middle stages appeared to dip on two occasions.
Race 2: Ray White Rockhampton City Sales Market Leaders Class 1 Handicap- 1500 metres
1st - HIGHLY CONTAGIOUS - 2nd - STRONG TIL DAWN - 3rd HIS REDEMPTION - 4th - DR STRANGELOVE
HIGHLY CONTAGIOUS - Slow to begin. When questioned regarding the seemingly improved performance, trainer stated that the gelding had been freshened up since its most recent start, when it was ridden more forward. Trainer said that in his opinion at its previous race starts there were circumstances that had a bearing on its runs and the gelding performs best when ridden back in the field.

EMOTIONALLY YOURS - Slow to begin.
SWEET TABOO - Raced keenly in the middle stages and was restrained from the heels of another runner. When questioned regarding the apparent improved performance of the horse the trainer stated that at its most recent start SWEET TABOO had led throughout, which had been detrimental to its performance. With the blinkers removed from the horse's gear today it was able to be ridden with cover.
STRATEGIC GLORY - Trainer advised stewards that, bearing in mind the horse's barrier draw, he had instructed the rider to be more positive. The rider reported that his mount was inclined to hang in throughout the event. He added that from the 400 metres until leaving the 300 metres he had been held up and was unable to fully test his mount.
