SUPPLEMENTARY REPORTS
Friday 8/12/06: Stewards today concluded an adjourned inquiry into the running and handling of RAM JAM INN during the Craiglea/Raheen/Minlawowie Droughtmaster/Marr’s Downs Series Open Handicap1400M at the Bell Jockey Club 25/11/06. Stewards were concerned with Apprentice Z Landrys’ actions when that gelding, after obtaining the lead, commenced to lose ground from approaching the 1200m until approaching the 900m. Apprentice Landry stated that the horse had commenced to hang out when she attempted to ease at that point and it had raced erratically and as a result lost significant ground. After reviewing both the betting sheets and the previous racing patterns of RAM JAM INN and taking further evidence from Trainer B Azel, stewards afforded Apprentice Landry the benefit of a grave doubt in that the gelding did display signs that it had overreact to being restrained at that point. Post race veterinary examination of RAM JAM INN revealed that horses to have superficial lacerations to the off hind Pastern.
