RACE 1:BACARDI MAIDEN PLATE -1000M
1ST-Zaha’s Gold 2nd-Third Millennium 3rd-Ione 4th-My Opportunity


CRAIGLEA SMOKIE was declared a late scratching by order of the Stewards at 1:04pm after that gelding dislodged App. K James and galloped a considerable distance riderless during the preliminary. Upon the declaration of correct weight stewards ordered that all monies invested on CRAIGLEA SMOKIE be refunded with deductions of 4 cents the win and 5 cents the place to apply to the face value of all successful bets.

MY MOUNTAIN MAN (W Doyle) was slow to begin.

FEITSUI (R Bell) began awkwardly.

Approaching the 900m, LAYBURN LADY (G Geran) improved onto the heels of FLEUR DE LAURA (J Warrington) and was forced to ease.

Near the 700m, SPIRIT OF THE BUSH (A Taylor) and THIRD MILLENNIUM (N Nishio) made contact when THRID MILLENNIUM shifted in.

Leaving the 600m, MY MOUNTAIN MAN shifted in making heavy contact with the running rail. MY MOUNTAIN MAN then shifted out hampering BAR TWENTY (R Cox) and FEITSUI (R Bell). As a result of this incident MY MOUNTAIN MAN sustained a laceration to its off hind stifle. Trainer K Maund was advised that she would be required to obtain a Veterinary Certificate for MY MOUNTAIN MAN prior to that gelding being permitted to next race.

THIRD MILLENNIUM which raced wide throughout, shifted in under pressure over the concluding stages of the event.

App. R Cox was reprimanded for striking his mount on more the 5 occasions in a forehand manner prior to the 100m.

RACE 2: MCINNES WILSON QTIS CLASS 3 H’CAP 1000M-
1st-Pandemonia 2nd- Sistagirl 3rd-Manahide 4th-Love A Sequalo

BIONIC ROCK (G Geran) and ARCTIC ECHO (R Kerwin) made contact on jumping away.

TRUE BLUE ANGEL (J Warrington) and PANDEMONIA (S McCullum) made contact on jumping away.

Near the 850m, SAND RULER (R Cox), MANAHIDE (J Letherby), MY GIRL SAL (N Tomizawa) and LISSOY’S LASS (B Richardson) were all hampered when LOVE A SEQUALO (R Bell) shifted out. Stewards advised jockey R Bell to exercise greater care when shifted out in future.

Near the 700m, MY GIRL SAL was tightened for room and forced to ease when racing between LISSOY’S LASS and MANAHIDE which shifted out to improve. MY GIRL SAL then shifted in hampering PANDEMONIA. Stewards advised app. J Letherby to exercise greater care when shifting out in future.

LISSOY’S LASS raced wide during the early and middle stages of the event.

ARCTIC ECHO (R Kerwin) raced wide throughout.

Stewards questioned jockey N Tomizawa and trainer T Sears in relation to the disappointing performance of MY GIRL SAL which performed below market expectations. Jockey N Tomizawa stated that after receiving interference during the middle stages of the event, the gelding seemed to resent the kickback off the track and never travelled comfortably from this point on. Jockey Tomizawa further stated that MY GIRL SAL failed to respond to his riding over the concluding sages of the event and as such proved disappointing. Mr Sears advised that he was at a loss to explain the disappointing performance and undertook to advise Stewards if anything comes to light in the days following the event which may have contributed to the gelding’s poor performance. Stewards noted both explanations.

App. K James was reprimanded for striking her mount with the whip in a forehand manner on greater then 5 occasions prior to the 100m.


RACE 3: CONDON TREASURE CLASS B H’CAP 1200M-
1ST-Winning Dreams 2nd-Alonso 3rd-Jet Style 4th-Bomber Murphy


JET STYLE (G Geran) knuckled on jumping away.

BAYBY GIRL (R Kerwin) began awkwardly losing ground.

App. S McCullum pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under Ar137(a) in that as the rider of ALONSO he permitted his mount to shift in near the 1000m, when insufficiently clear on CRAIGLEA EDGE (K James), dictating that runner inwards resulting in CHADWICK (J Warrington) being tightened for room and forced to check. App. McCullum’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 7 meetings commencing midnight 20 November 2010 and to expire at midnight 27 November 2010.

CHICKEN DINNER (R Cox), LASTING MEMORY (N Tomizawa) and BAYBY GIRL (R Kerwin) all raced wide throughout.

WINNING DREAMS (J Letherby) was held up for clear running from the 400m until the early stages of the home straight.

Stewards questioned jockey N Tomizawa and trainer T Sears in relation to the disappointing performance of LASTING MEMORY which performed below market expectations. Jockey Tomizawa stated that he raced further back in the field today then he anticipated however when he placed the gelding under pressure near the 600m, it failed to respond to his urgings and as such proved disappointing. Mr Sears stated that he could offer no explanation for disappointing performance as he had expected a forward showing from the gelding today. Mr Sears undertook to advise Stewards if anything comes to light in the days following the event which may has attributed to the poor performance of LASTING MEMORY. Stewards noted both explanations.


RACE 4: SANTOS PLATE CLASS 6 SET WEIGHTS 1200M-
1st-Fidakat 2nd-Hardheaded 3rd-Dack’s Faz 4th-Healy Creek

KING OF THE KONGO (G Geran) which was slow to begin raced wide for the majority of the event.

SPACE GAL (K James) was fractious in the barriers.

DACK’S FAZ (A Taylor) jumped out at the start making contact with FIDAKAT (B Richardson).

EXERTION (S McCullum) jumped awkwardly losing ground.

FIDAKAT over raced in the early and middle stages of the event.

HEALY CREEK (S Sweedman) raced 3 wide without cover for the duration of the event.

GOLD MOUNT (J Warrington) raced very wide rounding the home turn.


RACE 5 XXXX GOLD ROMA CUP 1640M –
1ST-Astro Gains 2nd-Wild Hero 3rd-Try Some Magic 4th-Mount Vernon


GRAND COMMANDER (W Doyle) was tightened for room at the start and lost ground between PALOLO DEEP and WILD HERO (A Taylor) which jumped out

ASTRO GAINS (R Bell) blundered shortly after the start losing ground.

LUCKY DUKE (J Letherby) began awkwardly.

GRAND COMMANDER and PALOLO DEEP both over raced in the early and middle stages of the race.

Leaving the 1300m, PALOLO DEEP which was racing keenly shifted out bumping EQUITANT (R Cox). As a result of this contact jockey M Cullen became unbalanced for a short distance.

App. R Cox was fined $200 for striking his mount in the forehand manner on more the 5 occasions prior to the 100m.

Stewards questioned apprentice S Sweedman a trainer P Webster in relation to the disappointing performance of CHIEF INSPECTOR which performed below market expectations. Apprentice Sweedman stated that his mount was travelling well until a point near the 900m where he attempted to follow the eventual winner into the race however his mount did not quicken as he expected and was unable to maintain a position following ASTRO GAINS. App. Sweedman further added that from this point CHIEF INSPECTOR was under pressure and in his view was very disappointing. Mr Webster agreed with App. Sweedman’s assessment that the gelding was very disappointing and could offer no explanation for the poor showing. Stewards noted both explanations. A post race Veterinary Examination of CHIEF INSPECTOR failed to reveal any abnormalities. A swab sample was also taken.

RACE 6 WILD DESERT PLATE CLASS 3 SET WEIGHTS 1640M-
1st-Brucher 2nd-Face Two 3rd- Winger In 4th-Tuscan Image

Following the running of race 5 Jockey R Kerwin was stood down after aggravating a pre-existing shoulder injury. Jockey Kerwin was advised that she must provide a medical certificate prior to next riding.

Jockey R Kerwin was replaced as the rider of WORTHY by J Warrington.

WORTHY (J Warrington) was slow to begin.

MISTER MAVERICK (K Gates) began awkwardly.

Near the 400m, MISTER MAVERICK was hampered by FACE TWO which shifted in.

MOXICON (G Geran) raced wide during the middle stages of the event

Stewards questioned jockey G Geran in relation to the disappointing performance of MOXICON. Jockey Geran stated that in his opinion the gelding failed to handle today’s sand racing surface. Jockey Geran further added that when placed under pressure the gelding failed to respond to his urging’s and as such proved very disappointing. Stewards noted jockey Geran’s explanations.




RACE 7 BLACK TOYOTA FLYING HANDICAP 1000M-
1st-Getamoveon 2nd-Haizum 3rd-Ima Joker 4th-Zahbaj

Jockey R Bell replaced R Kerwin as the rider of TESTIMONIAL

IMA JOKER (B Richardson) jumped in at the start hampering ZAHBAJ (G Geran)

Near the 800m, HAIZUM (N Tomizawa) shifted out abruptly hampering TESTIMONIAL (R Bell), LARRY’S SONG (A Taylor) and SILVER DANE (W Doyle).

I DARED (J Warrington) raced wide throughout.

Approaching the 600m, TESTIMONIAL was tightened for room by LARRY’S SONG which shifted in and away from ZAHBAJ (G Geran).

Jockey’s R Bell and W Doyle were both reprimanded for leaving the course prior to being permitted to do so.

Following the last race App. K James advised Stewards that she was starting to feel some discomfort in her leg arm as a result of her being dislodged en route to the barriers in Race 1. Based on this advice Stewards advised App. James that she would be required to obtain a medical certificate prior to next riding.
