Moveable rail out 9 metres from the 1800 to the 800 metres then 11 metres to the winning post.

As M. Smith-Lester was indisposed he was replaced on the following:

Race 9 NEDIYM'S MEASURE J. Taylor
RACE 1
STEWARTS KAWANA WATERS HANDICAP 1200 metres
After being fractious in the barriers SOUND CASH jumped away awkwardly.
THRONE, DOWN'S FLYER and FULLY IMPORTED were all slow to begin.
DANCING SERANADE made the 800 metres turn awkwardly.
Approaching the 600 metres ROJAH LIGHT had to shift out to avoid the heels of the tiring MIMICAL.
Jockey P. Gesler reported that MIMICAL had difficulty handling the heavy track conditions and lost significant ground after leaving the 800 metres.
RACE 2
STEWARTS ALEXANDRA HEADLAND HANDICAP 1200 metres
RED ZEPHYR had to be steadied off the heels of FLASH HORIZON after passing the 800 metres turn.
A post race Veterinary examination of WINCHESTER BAY which performed below expectations, failed to reveal any abnormality.
RACE 3
STEWARTS COOLUM BEACH HANDICAP 1000 metres
OPAL ICE was slow to begin.
REAL shifted in at the start and made contact with JAKE ROBERT.
A short distance after the start JAKE ROBERT had to be checked when tightened for room between REAL and ROCKY SANDS when tightened by TELEKLAIRE which was taken out by EMILY BLUE.
Approaching the 600 metres TELEKLAIRE was tightened as a result of ROCKY SANDS having a tendency to lay in.

RACE 4
STEWARTS WINE & LIQUOR MARKETS HANDICAP 1600 metres
BAY OF TIME was a little slow to begin.
RACE 5
STEWARTS VIP CELLAR HANDICAP 1300 metres
Trainer K. Kelly was fined the sum of $50 for failing to declare a rider for MISS NINJAH by the required time.
As B. Mason was indisposed he was replaced on KENTESSA LADY by M. Cahill.
MESSABINI was slow to begin.
RACE 6
VINO'S CELLAR BAR & CAFE HANDICAP 1400 metres
STORM DANCER was a little slow to begin.
KUAKA QUEEN pulled hard in the early and middle stages of the event.
At the 1000 metres STORM DANCER shifted in and brushed KUAKA QUEEN which in turn shifted in hampering AN BANSHEE.
AN BANSHEE made the 800 metres turn awkwardly.
Passing the 700 metres AN BANSHEE shifted out to improve and made contact with KUAKA QUEEN.
RACE 7
STEWARTS WINTER CUP 1800 metres
ULOSIS and WALTAZAR were both slow to begin.
Making the 800 metres ULOSIS was momentarily tightened for room by RASCHKE.
After leaving the 500 metres ULOSIS struck the heels of the tiring KINGS O'R and blundered.
A post race Veterinary examination of ON VENTURA HIWAY which performed poorly, failed to reveal any abnormality.
RACE 8
GOLD STRIKE GAMING HANDICAP 1000 metres
Acting on Veterinary advice BREAKFAST TREE was declared a late scratching at 8.05 am. A Veterinary certificate has been received for BREAKFAST TREE and the gelding is now clear to race at future meetings.
JOYFUL PRINCE jumped away awkwardly.
ROAD GUN was hampered between APRES NEIGE and ARION on jumping away.
After passing the 600 metres LANCER'S TREAT shifted in tightening ARION which in turn caused KING BAY to be checked. Apprentice M. Paget rider of LANCER'S TREAT was severely reprimanded and advised to exercise more care in future.

Race 8 Contd..
Over the concluding stages apprentice M. Gray had to stop riding and straighten JOYFUL PRINCE on several occasions when that gelding shifted in under pressure.
RACE 9
STEWARTS WINTER WINE FESTIVAL HANDICAP 1600 metres
NEDIYM'S MEASURE was slow to begin.
Rounding the home turn HAGAR THE HORRIBLE had to be steadied off the heels of the tiring LARGER.
Near the 300 metres CHRISTINA'S FURY shifted in to avoid the heels of the tiring LARGER.
Approaching the 200 metres NEDIYM'S MEASURE shifted in and had to be steadied off the heels of LARGER.
MY FELICIA hung in in the straight placing its rider G.. Baker at a disadvantage.
All winners were swabbed.
