WEATHER: Overcast
TRACK RATING: Heavy
Moveable rail out 2 metres for the entire circumference.

CHAIRMAN: Mr. G. Ireland
QPC STEWARDS: Mr. D. Collingwood, Mr. C. McLune, Mr. P. Gillard.
QPC CADET STEWARD: Mr. M. Tutt.

GENERAL: As J. Pollard was to be overweight on ALANOR BEAU (Race 1) he was replaced by N. Jolly and on COMIC CAPERS (Race 5) by M. Carson. J. Pollard was subsequently fined the sum of $100.

RACE 1
MARLIN PRINTING HANDICAP 1200 metres

SPRING LOVER and ALANOR BEAU brushed on jumping away.
At the start GLADMAC became unbalanced and lost ground after making contact with SANAKA. When being steadied off the heels of SPRING LOVER near the 800 metres ALANOR BEAU shifted in taking LOOKS A LOVER in on to GLADMAC which became unbalanced.

RACE 2
COLEMAN DRAINAGE HANDICAP 1000 metres

Near the 600 metres TRENDY GUY shifted out to improve inconveniencing LEGENDARY GIRL and RANCHALL.
Approaching the 500 metres LEGENDARY GIRL had to be steadied off the heels of ST. COLUMBANS.

RACE 3
CARLTON MID STRENGTH PLATE 1000 metres

The explanation of trainer B. Miller was accepted into the reason BANDAGES was nominated in this event when ineligible.
Apprentice A. Morrison was unable to claim his full allowance on FLYING SHOES and was subsequently fined the sum of $100.
BORN BRIGHT which brushed it near side stifle area on the side of the barriers prior to the event was inspected by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and passed fit to start.
Shortly after the start JODI’S DANCER had to be steadied when tightened for room between MIDINETTE and JUDE’S AFFAIR which shifted out.
When questioned regarding the poor performance of BORN BRIGHT apprentice A. Merritt stated that in his opinion the filly failed to handle the heavy conditions of the track.

RACE 4
QUEENSLAND WINTER RACING CARNIVAL HANDICAP 1600 metres

When questioned regarding the poor performance of RIPASYN jockey N. Day stated that in his opinion the filly failed to handle the heavy track conditions of the track for the entire event.

RACE 5
CASCADE PREMIUM LIGHT HANDICAP 1600 metres

BAGPIPE BLUES and BELLTARNI made contact on jumping away.
MY PROUD MAN shifted out at the start inconveniencing HANDSOME CREOLE and SEA OPAL.
Approaching the 100 metres MY PROUD MAN shifted out under pressure and brushed HANDSOME CREOLE.

RACE 6
PACIFIC FORD HANDCAP 1600 metres

TOUGH AS TEAK was slow to begin.
Near the 100 metres SMOOTH LEWY shifted in under pressure and brushed BLAZING TAAN.

RACE 7
CROWN LAGER HANDICAP 1300 metres

SEYMOUR and NEDIYM’S MEASURE were both slow to begin.
Rounding the home turn PENDOLINO shifted out to improve and made contact with FORCED ASHORE.
Passing the 200 metres PENDOLINO had to be steadied off the heels of KRONA WALK.

RACE 8
COLEMAN DRAINAGE HANDICAP 1200 metres

MISTY TYCOON was slow to begin.
On jumping away TIFFANY HEIGHTS and MADAME MURRAY made heavy contact.
A short distance later TIFFANY HEIGHTS was hampered for room between MADAME MURRAY and GOLD DEALER which shifted out.
Approaching the 800 metres TYCOON HONEY shifted out and made contact with GOLD DEALER.
Near the 800 metres MADAME MURRAY threw its head in the air when being steadied off the heels of TYCOON HONEY.
Passing the 600 metres GOLD DEALER shifted in and made heavy contact with TYCOON HONEY on two occasions.
When questioned regarding the performance of TIFFANY HEIGHTS jockey M. Cahill stated that in his opinion the filly was having its first start back after a lengthy spell and was not suited by todays heavy track conditions.
