RACE 1
TOOHEY’S EXTRA DRY HANDICAP 1200 metres

SCOOBIE SNAX was slow to begin.
After jumping away awkwardly NARRATE shifted out hampering COUNT KELLINE.
Shortly after the start ROJAH KWILA was inclined to lay out and after passing the 900 metres the filly shifted out and had to be steadied off the heels of NARRATE. ROJAH KWILA then continued to hang out until after entering the straight.
Trainer N. Flouskos was advised that a warning has been placed on ROJAH KWILA regarding its racing manners.

RACE 2
HAHN PREMIUM LIGHT HANDICAP 1800 metres

BRAVE CHANCE was slow to begin.
After jumping away awkwardly TRUE ENOUGH shifted in and brushed the hind quarters of VIBRATIONS causing that horse to become unbalanced.
Both CLASSIC LIGHT and ALMIGHTY ALLIANCE raced fiercely in the early stages of the event.

RACE 3
HAHN PREMIUM HANDICAP 1400 metres

POWER VISION was slow to begin.
A short distance after the start STANZAWAY shifted in and made heavy contact with KOREELAH.
Near the 1100 metres CEDRICK shifted in and struck the heels of BORN BRIGHT causing that horse to blundered.
A post race Veterinary examination of ROWDY BOY which performed disappointingly failed to reveal any abnormality.

RACE 4
CASTLEMAINE PERKINS HANDICAP 1000 metres

As C. Reith was stood down by the Club Doctor for this event he was replaced on PHARBOROUGH by G. Geran.
STAR TIPPER which was restless in the barriers, jumped away awkwardly and lost considerable ground.
PHARBOROUGH was slow to begin.
The saddle on FLYING SHOES shifted back in the early stages placing its rider apprentice A. Merritt at a disadvantage for the remainder of the event.
A post race Veterinary examination of JILLINA BLUE failed to reveal any abnormality.

RACE 5
XXXX GOLD HANDICAP 1600 metres

DANEGOLD pulled hard in the early stages of the event and continued to do so until the 800 metres.
TIMBERGROVE raced ungenerously throughout the early and middle stages of the event.

Race 5 Contd.
After passing the 300 metres BRUSH shifted out to improve and made contact with DANEGOLD.
Over the concluding stages SWAPSEA was impeded for a run between GOLDEN SON and TIMBERGROVE.

RACE 6
JACK GOWEN OF SAHARA LODGE GLASSHOUSE HANDICAP 1200 metres

ST. PLATO which was fractious in the barriers was released and inspected by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and passed fit to start.
RETURN TO GO blundered badly on jumping away and lost considerable ground. In this incident RETURN TO GO sprung the off hind plate.
After passing the 50 metres DANAJIVA shifted out and made contact with TAJ on two occasions causing both horses to become unbalanced.
At the same stage ST. PLATO had to be steadied off the heels of MAJOR VICTORY which shifted out slightly under pressure.

RACE 7
XXXX SUNSHINE COAST GUINEAS 1600 metres

TYCOON HONEY and MALTESE POWER were both slow to begin.
At the 1300 metres LUKE’S LOOT had to be steadied off the heels of HIRSCHBERG which shifted in.
C. Maund rider of KAREN’S WAY was found guilty of a charge of careless riding in that approaching the 400 metres he permitted his mount to shift out taking LORD ALANNON out on to CITY MISSION causing both horses to be checked.
C. Maund was suspended for a period of 8 meetings to commence at midnight on Saturday 15th July 2000 and to expire at midnight on Thursday 27th July 2000.

RACE 8
XXXX BITTER HANDICAP 1300 metres

Shortly after the start BLUE POET shifted in taking JUST GUS and ICE PATROL in on to JACK’S DREAM causing that gelding to be checked off the heels of RED BOY.
Over the concluding stages CASUAL WAY was tightened for room between KRONA WALK and EPHESUS which shifted ground.

The explanation of trainer P. Duff for the reason RED WASP was nominated in a 3 Year old Maiden Handicap was accepted.
Trainer L. Brazier was fined the sum of $50 for nominating JACK’S DREAM in a Class 3 event when ineligible.

All winners were swabbed.
