STEWARDS REPORT Tuesday November 7th 2000

WEATHER: Overcast
TRACK RATING: Good
Moveable rail out 9 metres from the 1800 to the 800 then 11 metres to the winning post.

RACE 1
CASTLEMAINE PERKINS HANDICAP 1000 metres

OUTBACK OPUS was slow to begin.

RACE 2
XXXX BITTER HANDICAP 1800 metres

Making the 800 metres turn CLASSIC KIWI LIP laid in and brushed the running rail.
Near the 200 metres BOLD AND BRASH shifted in and brushed SALAAMA.
Approaching the 100 metres Tad Pattillo had to stop riding and straighten BOLD AND BRASH when the gelding was inclined to lay in under pressure.

RACE 3
XXXX GOLD HANDICAP 1600 metres

No racing incidents.

RACE 4
THIRSTY DOG HANDICAP 1300 metres

After jumping away awkwardly CAPTAIN MALLORY shifted in hampering PHYLSON and DEFIANT WARRIOR.
DEFIANT WARRIOR pulled hard in the early and middle stages and approaching the 800 metres had to be checked off the heels of SAHARA SOUND.
T. Unwin rider of DEFIANT WARRIOR accidentally dropped her whip after leaving the 300 metres.

RACE 5
HAHN PREMIUM HANDICAP 1000 metres

NOT ANOTHER reared on jumping away and lost considerable ground.
ALWAYS TRUMPS jumped away awkwardly.
Over the concluding stages SAHARA LOCH shifted out abruptly under pressure.

RACE 6
HAHN PREMIUM LIGHT HANDICAP 1000 metres

On jumping away MY LANCER struck the side of the barrier and became unbalanced.
BLUE SNAKE jumped in at the start and made contact with SPIRIT OF NORWAY.
Near the 700 metres KEEP COMING shifted in and made heavy contact with the running rail for some distance. SHINING BUCCANEER which was following had to be steadied and shifted out to avoid the heels of KEEP COMING. As a result of this incident SHINING BUCCANEER made contact with SPIRIT OF NORWAY.
Approaching the 600 metres ROY’S FOLLY had to be steadied off the heels of METROPALIS which was inclined to hang in.

RACE 7
XXXX HANDICAP 1400 metres

As G. O’Sullivan was indisposed he was replaced on MOUGI by M. Smith-Lester.
ON VENTURA HIWAY pulled hard in the early and middle stages of the event.
Passing the 600 metres ON VENTURA HIWAY and LATIN QUARTER made contact.




All winners were swabbed.
