RACE 1
MIKE WILKINSON HANDICAP 1200 metres
Trainer T. Miller was fined the sum of $50 for failing to inform K. Mahoney he was engaged to ride MANPOZEST. The colt was subsequently ridden by L. Deguara.
KOLAN RIVER was slow to begin.
Leaving the 200 metres TRIP TO VEGA shifted out to obtain clear running and in doing so took SCORE A CENTURY out on to ANELECT.
LEGEND MATERIAL had to be checked over the concluding stages when disappointed for clear running.
Trainer T. Miller was advised a warning has been placed on SCORE A CENTURY which was inclined to hang out throughout the event.
A post race Veterinary examination of SCORE A CENTURY failed to reveal any abnormality.
RACE 2
MS MARKETING HANDICAP 1400 metres
TOP GIRL. AQUATAI and JUST YAL were all slow to begin.
At the start ELORAC shifted out and made heavy contact with VIRGO’S MADHATTA which in turn brushed the hind quarters of LORD LARKSPUR.
Approaching the 1200 metres VIRGO’S MADHATTA shifted in tightening the running of ALFRESCO GIRL which was taken in and made contact with MIGHTY KNIGHT. Jockey D. Craven rider of VIRGO’S MADHATTA was advised to exercise more care in future.
Approaching the 300 metres ELORAC shifted in abruptly, when struck with the whip, making heavy contact with SCOOBIE SNAX.
RACE 3
SUNLAND SHOPPING CENTRE HANDICAP 1000 metres
BAYARDO and PUNCTILLO were both slow to begin.
KAILEY ANN blundered on jumping away.
Near the 200 metres BAYARDO had to be steadied to avoid the heels of HIDDEN VALLEY. K. Pope rider of HIDDEN VALLEY was advised to exercise more care when his mounts shift ground under pressure.
RACE 4
KINGS BEACH TAVERN HANDICAP 1000 metres
Approaching the 300 metres SPY KING shifted out to obtain clear running and made heavy contact with SPIRIT OF NORWAY. Jockey G. Schofield rider of SPY KING was advised to exercise more care.

RACE 5
FOCUS PROFESSIIONAL GROUP HANDICAP 1600 metres
Stewards interviewed jockey D. Griffin and trainer M. Lewis into the reason why D. Griffin was engaged to ride both MRS. COSGROVE and SEA SIOUX in this event. After taking evidence from D. Griffin and M. Lewis their explanations were noted and no action was taken.
After entering the straight apprentice M. Dracos rider of READY TO REV attempted to obtain a run to the inside of QUICK PRINCE where there was insufficient room. M. Dracos was reprimanded over this incident and advised to exercise more care in future.
SEA SIOUX was obliged to race wide throughout the event.
RACE 6
CALOUNDRA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE HANDICAP 1400 metres
VIBRATIONS which was slow to begin had to be checked a short distance later to avoid the heels of MAIZIERE which was taken out by DINNASNAP.
Approaching the 100 metres SEQUENTLY and LIGHTHOUSE ROAD made contact.
Close to the finishing line MAIZIERE had to be steadied when tightened for room between LIGHTHOUSE ROAD and SEQUENTLY.
RACE 7
GRIFFITHS PARRY LAWYERS HANDICAP 1200 metres
DOOLIN jumped away very awkwardly and made heavy contact with the barrier partition.
Approaching the 800 metres DANE NEWS had to be steadied off the heels of TELE SERIES which was inclined to over race.
TRILOBITE which was following struck the heels of DANE NEWS.
Approaching the 300 metres PERFECT AFFAIR had to be steadied and was obliged to alter course to the inside of DOOLIN which shifted out when not fully clear. Jockey K. Mahoney rider of DOOLIN was issued with a reprimand and advised to exercise greater care when shifting ground in future.
OLD FAITHFUL was inclined to race greenly when placed under pressure in the straight.
A post race Veterinary examination of DANE NEWS revealed the horse had been galloped on on the near side hind heel.
RACE 8
ALFIE LANGER HANDICAP 1000 metres
SHADOW SHOOTER was slow to begin.
Near the 250 metres WHISKEY BOY which was racing ungenerously shifted out and away from HOW HIGH SIR which had obtained a run to its inside. As a result SNAP ACTION was taken out across the running of MASTER ALANNON which had to be checked.
All winners were swabbed.
