RACE 1
HAIR TESTING LABORATORY HANDICAP 1000 metres
RAYMONDS REWARD and PRECIOUS SMILE were both slow to begin.
Near the 850 metres HENRY THE OCTOPUS had to be steadied off the heels of JACK’S ROSE which shifted in.
After leaving the 600 metres RAYMONDS REWARD became unbalanced after making contact with the running rail then shifted out and had to be steadied off the heels of HENRY THE OCTOPUS.
RAYMONDS REWARD continued to race greenly and rounding the home turn shifted out and made contact with FOREST GIRL.
Approaching the 300 metres HENRY THE OCTOPUS shifted out under pressure causing RAYMONDS REWARD, which was inclined to lay in, to be steadied.
RACE 2
THE INK SPOT PRINTERS HANDICAP 1400 metres
MR. MONEYMAKER and KWILTIME made heavy contract on jumping away.
REALE D’OR shifted out at the start making heavy contact with CONEEDA.
When racing greenly approaching the 1300 metres FIRE ANT shifted in abruptly hampering SET OF BELLS and CANTERINA.
Near the 1100 metres THE CHANGELING and ALL ON JACK were severely crowded for room by MR. MONEYMAKER which was taken in by KWILTIME as a result of SET OF BELLS receiving pressure from REALE D’OR which commenced to race greenly.
A short distance later REALE D’OR, which continued to race greenly, shifted in abruptly and made heavy contact with FIRE ANT.
Rounding the 800 metre turn MR. MONEY MAKER had to be steadied when momentarily tightened for room by KWILTIME which shifted in slightly.
A short distance later CONEEDA shifted in and brushed MR. MONEYMAKER.
After passing the 600 metres REALE D’OR shifted in and made contact with FIRE ANT causing that horse to become unbalanced.

Trainer Kevin Kemp was advised that as CANTERINA finished a distant last nominations for CANTERINA to start in the Provincial area will now be refused until the filly becomes competitive.
A post race Veterinary examination of CANTERINA failed to reveal any abnormality.
RACE 3
COLLECTION HOUSE LIMITED HANDICAP 1600 metres
WILL RISK was slow to begin.
HIGHLY DANGEROUS shifted out at the start and made contact with INDIGIT.
Approaching the 1400 metres INDIGIT was inclined to lay in and had to be steadied off the heels of KAAPSICUM.
Approaching the 300 metres INDIGIT shifted in and brushed TRUMP DOMINION.
A post race Veterinary examination of I’M A CRACKER failed to reveal any abnormality.
RACE 4
MIDAS CAR CARE HANDICAP 1000 metres
When being paraded M. Cahill was dislodged from ARTIST’S TOUCH and injured his right knee. M. Cahill was subsequently replaced by M. Gray.
The start was delayed when SHED THE LIGHT dislodged apprentice M. McDonald on the way to the barriers and galloped for some distance. SHED THE LIGHT was subsequently declared a late scratching at 2.06pm
On the announcement of correct weight all monies invested on SHED THE LIGHT were ordered to be refunded with deductions of 8c in the dollar on the face value of win bets and 9c in the dollar on the face value of place bets being applicable.
PUNCTILLO was slow to begin.
The saddle on VENTURE CAPITAL slipped back during the event placing rider apprentice A. Morrison at a disadvantage for the remainder of the event.
Rounding the home turn VENTURE CAPITAL shifted in and made heavy contact with the running rail.
Approaching the finishing line YOU SEE A STAR shifted out and made contact with ARTIST’S TOUCH.
RACE 5
CADET TRAINING & EMPLOYMENT HANDICAP 1400 metres
ERNEST HOPE jumped away awkwardly.
RENAZZO was slow to begin.
When being steadied near the 1200 metres FIRES OF IRELAND commenced to race ungenerously and shifted in making heavy contact with MANDORA.
A short distance later FIRES OF ISLAND shifted out abruptly and made heavy contact with BOMBAY SAPPHIRE.

RACE 6
GARY CRICK AUTO GROUP HANDICAP 1200 metres
Trainer Ian O’Neill was fined the sum of $50 for failing to declare a rider for SCENIC FLIGHT by the required time.
After passing the 600 metres VATULELE improved up on to the heels of SCENIC FLIGHT and had to be steadied. As a result of this incident GASOLINE which was following had to be steadied.
After passing the 400 metres SCENIC FLIGHT was disappointed for a run between SCENIC FLIGHT and STORMY LODGE.
Over the concluding stages VATULELE shifted in and made contact with STORMY LODGE.
RACE 7
AMBASSADOR TRAVEL HANDICAP 1000 metres
After jumping away awkwardly FAST NEDDY shifted in abruptly.
Shortly after the start DAZZER BOY was tightened for room between CIARA and BECKY’S TABOO which was taken out by REGAL SIGN. As a result of this incident DAZZER BOY struck the heels of CIARA and blundered.
Rounding the home turn REGAL SIGN was tightened for room between CIARA and HATTA’S DANCER both of which shifted ground.
Near the 100 metres DAZZER BOY shifted in under pressure and brushed BECKY’S TABOO.
CIARA was forced to race wide throughout the event.
A post race Veterinary examination of SHARP STELLA failed to reveal any examination.
RACE 8
PUB MOOLOOLABA HANDICAP 1300 metres
ESTIELLE THE GREAT jumped away awkwardly and a short distance later commenced to race ungenerously.
Approaching the 200 metres WILD LOLA shifted in under pressure and made contact with SCORE A CENTURY.
Near the 200 metres CALEDONIAN LAD shifted in abruptly to avoid the heels of the tiring PALACE EDITION and made contact with MANPOZEST. Jockey A. Abrahams rider of CALEDONIAN LAD was reprimanded and advised to exercise more care when shifting ground in future.
All winners were swabbed.
