Moveable rail out 6 metres for the entire circumference.

Trainer P. Balzen reported that SUPERCHARGER pulled up sore over the hind quarters and would now be spelled.
RACE 1
HARCOURTS SUNSHINE COAST HANDICAP 1600 metres
HI DAD which became fractious in the barriers was inspected by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and passed fit to start.
FAST DUKE shifted out shortly after the start taking IMTENT out on to MY VISION SPLENDID. As a result of this incident SABAI SABAI which was following, had to be steadied.
FAST DUKE was inclined to over race in the early and middle stages of the event.
Approaching the first turn IMTENT became unbalanced when being steadied off the heels of MY VISION SPLENDID.
CANALETTO was forced to race in a three wide position throughout the event.
A post race Veterinary examination of CANALETTO which weakened in the straight revealed no significant abnormality however the off side front shoe had shifted during the event.
RACE 2
BUDERIM COFFEE COMPANY SUPER QRIS ADDED STAKES HANDICAP
1000 metres
Trainer Matthew Tremble was fined the sum of $50 for failing to declare a rider for TO THE TEST by the required time.
As the following riders were held up in traffic they were replaced as follows:
Matthew Paget KAVORT K. Pope
Scott Galloway CANADIAN COURTING M. Cahill
Prior to being loaded J. Bryant was dislodged from DOOKIE DAZE however suffered no injury as a result.
TO THE TEST and BRONZE ICON both jumped away awkwardly.
EYECUE was slow to begin.
Approaching the 800 metres TO THE TEST which was racing greenly, had to be steadied off the heels of ROMAN EXPLORER. TO THE TEST then continued to race greenly for some distance.
After passing the 300 metres when struck with the whip, DARK EMPEROR was inclined to shift out. Trainer Gordon Yorke was advised a warning has been placed on DARK EMPEROR regarding its racing manners.
CRAIGLEA WAY was inclined to lay out and race wide for the entire event.
RACE 3
HIGHLAND SMASH REPAIRS HANDICAP 1000 metres
Trainer G. Ryan was fined the sum of $50 for failing to enact a transfer of ownership for ANAHEART.
BRASH TINO and COVET LOVE were both slow to begin.
ANAHEART and TWINKLE TOES made heavy contact on jumping away.
DESERT SALT shifted out at the start forcing EAGLE’S GLANCE out on to the hind quarters of COUNT TARSHO.
After passing the 700 metres LUCKY ACE shifted in taking COUNT TARSHO in on to COVET LOVE which was inconvenienced. Jockey G. Baker rider of LUCKY ACE was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground in future.
RACE 4
SECUTOR SECURITIES HANDICAP 1000 metres
Due to transport difficulties jockey Lee Roberts failed to arrive on course and was subsequently replaced on AVON WALTZ by N. Jolly.
As GRACE’S KIN had incurred a 3 month ban from racing for bleeding the mare was declared a late scratching at 11.47am. As the mare was having its first for trainer J. Penfold and he was unaware of this ban no action was taken.
Making the home turn DANURE was inclined to lay out and in doing so inconvenienced SPANISH ARRAY.
SMOKEY HALO was held up for a clear run in the early part of the straight.
SPANISH ARRAY was forced to race in a three wide position throughout the event.
RACE 5
HOURIGAN’S RETRAVISION HANDICAP 1400 metres

PECAN BLUSH jumped away awkwardly.
Approaching the 700 metres IANITIS had to be checked when tightened for room between ADVANCE GUARD which shifted out and KHAADESH which was taken in slightly by GET MOBILE. As Stewards were of the opinion that no one rider was at fault no action was taken.
A post race Veterinary examination of MARKET MAN revealed the colt had dislodged a tooth.
RACE 6
KAWANA NEWSAGENCY HANDICAP 1600 metres
MR. SPIELBERG broke through the barrier prior to the start and galloped a short distance. After being inspected by the Club Veterinary Surgeon MR. SPIELBERG was passed fit to start.
Shortly after the start KADAZZLE and MR. SPIELBERG made contact on several occasions.
Over the concluding stages WINSTED was accidentally struck over the head by the whip of M. Rodd rider of ZUCCARO.
RACE 7
PELICAN WATERS HANDICAP 1400 metres
As trainer M. Hassam had difficulty obtaining a rider for LONGJETTY JACK apprentice A. Morrison was not shown in the racebook however as A. Morrison was stood down by the Club Doctor following Race 4 he was subsequently replaced by apprentice P. Hammersley..
As jockey Gary Palmer was indisposed he was replaced on EDUARDO by J. Byrne.
Following the running of Race 2 jockey D. Griffin was stood down by the Club Doctor and was subsequently replaced on POWER SNAP by J. Pollard.
EDUARDO was slow to begin.
TRIP TO THE MOON blundered on jumping away.
After jumping away awkwardly NATIONAL SPIRIT shifted in and made contact with LONGJETTY JACK.
When questioned regarding the poor performance of OGANARA jockey G. Baker stated that the gelding never travelled well throughout the event and failed to respond to his riding and he was of the view that something may be amiss with the gelding.
A post race Veterinary examination of HATTA’S DANCER failed to reveal any abnormality.
RACE 8
HARVEY’S TOWING SERVICE HANDICAP 1200 metres
Approaching the 500 metres SCORE A CENTURY improved up on to the heels of SUNGIFT and had to be steadied.
TELDAWN was forced to race in a three deep position throughout the event.
When questioned regarding the performance of SUNGIFT jockey J. Byrne stated that the gelding travelled well in the early stages however when steadied near the 800 metres was inclined to over race for some distance. J. Byrne further stated that SUNGIFT failed to respond to his riding when placed under pressure in the straight.
A post race Veterinary examination of SUNGIFT failed to reveal any abnormality.
ALL WINNERS WERE SWABBED.
