WEATHER - Fine TRACK - Slow RAIL - True Position

RACE 1: BIG KART TRACK QTIS ADDED STAKES H'CAP - 1400M.

SEA DRIVE and GREAT ELLE came together at the start.

When questioned regarding the seemingly disappointing performance of SEA DRIVE, J. Byrne could offer no explanation for the performance other than, in his opinion, the gelding may not have appreciated backing up after racing on 20 March.

B. Stewart, rider of THEY SAID, was fined $50 for failing to weigh in 5th.

RACE 2: KINGS BEACH REAL ESTATE H'CAP - 1600M.

Shortly after entering the straight, BLUES SPECIAL raced in restricted room between EUROSYMBOL and LORD MAYOR, which shifted out slightly under pressure.

RACE 3: CALOUNDRA RSL H'CAP - 1600M.

BUMPERS SMILE and ROSATORIA were slow to begin.

MOCKERY was obliged to race wide throughout the event.

When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of TUCKLAN SKY, K. Pope stated that at the filly's last start when second at the Sunshine Coast on 14 March she had led on that occasion when the race was run at a similar pace on a slow track. He was at a loss to explain today's performance and advised that when TUCKLAN SKY was placed under pressure inside the 300m., the filly commenced to compound to finish last in the event. A veterinary examination of TUCKLAN SKY failed to reveal any abnormality and a swab sample was taken.

RACE 4: HOT 91 PLATE

B. Wade was unable to claim down to his riding weight in this event. As trainer T. Joseph had no objection, stewards permitted B. Wade to fulfill his engagement on LUCKY GOLD.

LOPPER and FLYING SQUAD both jumped away awkwardly and made heavy contact.

Leaving the 1000m., MISS LEHAAR was obliged to steady off the heels of LUCKY GOLD, which shifted out.

Approaching the first turn, OCEAN HAWK shifted in and brushed MIDDLE CLASS, which in turn shifted in momentarily tightening the running of LORD OF MARS. LORD OF MARS, when being restrained, commenced to race ungenerously and had to be checked after hanging out across the heels of MIDDLE CLASS. SIGNATORY, which was following, also had to be steadied off the heels of LORD OF MARS.

Near the 800m., BEDIVERE shifted out and brushed MISS LEHAAR, which as a result had to be steadied off the heels of LUCKY GOLD.

Over the concluding stages, LOPPER was tightened for room and had to be steadied between MIDDLE CLASS and EXHORT, which was taken out by CARATOLOGY.

CARATOLOGY, LUCKY GOLD and MISS LEHAAR were all obliged to race wide throughout.

A post-race veterinary examination LOPPER failed to reveal any abnormality other than the gelding had lost both hind plates in running.
