Race 1: Shuttlewood Building Services 3yo & Up Maiden Plate - 1600m.
1st - Overtothree 2nd - Headmann 3rd - Sweet Irish 4th - Dad's Song

RIPARITA (L. Deguara) jumped away awkwardly and was then hampered a short distance later between OVERTOTHREE (K. Wharton) and IRISH LUCK (S. Shield).

CRYSTAL GAYZA (C. Kearney) was slow to begin and then was caught wide in the early and middle stages.

Approaching the 1300m., RIPARITA had to be steadied from the heels of OVERTOTHREE when RIPARITA commenced to overrace.

Nearing the 600m., HEADMANN (M. Gray) commenced to overrace and had to be steadied from the heels of JANLARI (C. Eaton).


Race 2: Goundrey Wines 3yo Maiden Plate - 1300m.
1st - Jando 2nd - At The Summit 3rd - Every Nite 4th -Jerome

EVERY NITE (N. Thomson) was slow to begin.

When the paced slowed approaching the 1000m., AT THE SUMMIT (J. Bowditch) had to be steadied from the heels of JANDO (D. Griffin) and shifted out, taking EVERY NITE wider on the track. Following this incident, AT THE SUMMIT commenced to overrace.

JEROME'S IDOL M. Morris) contacted the fence approaching the 700m. and then again at the 650m..

Nearing the 450m., JEROME'S IDOL improved on to the heels of JANDO and had to be steadied.

Rounding the home turn and on straightening, JEROME'S IDOL rolled out and made contact with EVERY NITE.

Race 3: Smartline Maiden H'cap - 1200m.
1st -Princess Fong 2nd - Haayil Rhythm 3rd -Special Dad 4th - Telekineses

HIM IS SIERRA (S.Shield) was slow to begin.

OUR ELSA (M. Palmer), WESTERNIZE (P. Hammersley) and TELEKINESES (B. Thomson) were all caught wide in the early and middle stages.

Approaching the 800m., JOSHUA EXPRESS (K. Pope) commenced to overrace on the heels of PRINCESS FONG (M. Morris) and was inclined to hang out and made contact with HOP ABOARD (K. Wharton).

Nearing the 450m., HOP ABOARD, when racing greenly, laid in and made contact with JOSHUA EXPRESS.

After leaving the 900m., HIM IS SIERRA (S. Shield) commenced to overrace, became awkward on the heels of HOP ABOARD and had to be steadied and shifted out.

As the horses were pulling up after passing the winning post, B. Thomson slipped over the neck of TELEKINESES, sustaining a seemingly harmless fall. B. Thomson was examined by the club's doctor and cleared of any apparent injuries.


Race 4: North Sun Commercial Interiors Class 4 H'cap - 1000m.
1st - Written By Xaar 2nd - Buck's Secret 3rd - Sunny Paradise 4th - Carry On Ace

BUCK'S SECRET (R. Plumb) Jumped in the air reared as the start was effected and lost ground.

WRITTEN BY XAAR (R. Mason) jumped outwards as the gates were released and made contact with BUCK'S PEARL (M. Radecker).

Over the final 100m., BUCK'S SECRET was inclined to race erratically.


Race 5: Buslink Class 3 H'cap - 1400m.
1st - Waikato 2nd - Leeds United 3rd - Air Specific 4th - Gypsy Minx

Approaching the 1000m., AIR SPECIFIC commenced to overrace and continued to do so until near the 450m..

Following the event, D. Griffin reported to stewards that RETRIBUTION travelled well to the home turn however failed to run on over the final stages and proved very disappointing. D. Griffin's comments were noted.

AIR SPECIFIC bled from both nostrils during the event. Trainer P. Bell was advised that the gelding would be barred from racing for a period of 3 months.

Race 6: Paul Farrugia & Company Accountants Class 2 H'cap -
1200m.
1st - Stalwart Queen 2nd - Miracle Sound 3rd - A Royal Tale 4th - The Cavern Club

As T. Unwin was ill, J. Bowditch was substituted as ther rider of FULL PORT.

KALINGA METAL (K. Wharton) was slow to begin.

KALINGA TEAGAN (G. McKeon) jumped inwards at the start, making contact with A ROYAL TALE (J. Taylor).

THE CAVERN CLUB (R. Plumb) raced wide in the early and middle stages.

Approaching the home turn, STALWART QUEEN (P. Hammersley) became awkward on the heels of KALINGA TEAGAN and had to be steadied.

Race 7: King Kong Sales Class 1 H'cap - 2200m.
1st - Sardan 2nd - Sigrun 3rd - Desert Safari 4th -
Jockey Pengally was reprimanded under AR118A, in that a breastplate was added to the gear of SARDAN after he weighed out. In issuing a reprimanded, stewards took into account the circumstances surrounding the incident, the prevailing conditions on the day and safety factors.

As S. Katsidis was indisposed, P. Hammersley was substituted as the rider of SOCIAL WORKER.

Due to a racebook error, B. El-Issa was shown as the rider of SARDAN when J. Bowditch was notified rider of the gelding.

DECANTER LASS (K. Treble) was tightened for room at the start between
BECCA'S BELLE (R. Mason), which jumped outwards, and SHEDDING (J. Byrne), which jumped inwards.

Near the 1800m., DESERT SAFARI (N. Thomas) commenced to overrace and became became awkward on heels of SIGRUN (B. Pengelly) and shifted out, taking DECANTER LASS wider on the track.

DESERT SAFARI was caught wide in the early stages.

DECANTER LASS was caught wide in the early and middle stages.

Approaching the home turn, SARDAN (J. Bowditch) became unbalanced and awkward for a few strides, and on straightening was held up for clear running.

Rounding the home turn, OCTAGONAL'S STAR (R. Plumb) got its head in the air and raced awkwardly.
ALL WINNERS AND AIR SPECIFIC WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED
