SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT - As jockey R Hancock was indisposed he was replaced as per the Stewards summary sheet.
Race 1: THE ANZ TWO YEAR OLD MAIDEN HANDICAP - 850m.
1st - CHICKEN BOB 2nd - CAESAR'S JEWEL 3rd - MINDIL BEACH 4th - KIRRALEE QUEEN
KING'S CRUSADE (B Pengelly) was slow to begin.
KIRRALEE QUEEN (J Byrne) jumped in at the start making heaving contact with CAESAR'S JEWEL (J Taylor).
STAR JANGLE (M Morris) was caught wide rounding the home turn.
Race 2: AMALGAMATED PEST CONTROL MAIDEN HANDICAP - 1400m.
1st - GOTCHA COVERED 2nd - EL ABANICO 3rd - NOBLE HUNTER 4th - GREAT ELLE
PRESERVATION (K Wharton) and MISS DAKOTA (K Pope) were slow to begin.
FUSH (R McMahon) was tightened for room at the start between EL ABANICO (B Pengelly) which jumped out and ADMIRAL'S MISSION (A Erhart) which jumped in.
HIM IS SIERRA (B El-issa) jumped out making contact with GOTCHA COVERED (J Byrne) which was slow to begin.
Approaching the 1200 metres EL ABANICO (B Pengelly) had to be momentarily steadied from the heels of FUSH (R McMahon).
From the 900 metres until the 450 metres MICHAEL WIN (M Morris) over raced.
ADMIRAL'S MISSION (A Erhart) raced wide in the early stages of the event.
GREAT ELLE (S Shield) raced wide in the early and middle stages.
GOTCHA COVERED (J Byrne) commenced to lay out approaching the 600 metres and continued to do so until well into the straight.
A post race Veterinary examination of ADMIRAL'S MISSION which pulled up sore after the event revealed the gelding to be lame in the near fore.
Connections of ADMIRAL'S MISSION were advised a Veterinary certificate of soundness will be required prior to its next race start.
When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of FUSH apprentice R McMahon stated that the horse seemed to be travelling well but approaching the 500 metres when he eased out for clear running FUSH failed to respond and felt flat. Stewards noted his comments.
FUSH was sent to be swabbed and a Veterinary examination revealed no abnormality.
Following the running of race 2 Stewards upgraded the track rating to DEAD.
Race 3: AUSTAR FOR BUSINESS MAIDEN PLATE - 1000m.
1st - LASTING LUCK 2nd - PEPPERMINT BAY 3rd - TELEKINESES 4th - GEN SET
After being slow to begin RONESSA (M Morris) was hampered for room between SUBARASHI AMIGOS (K Pope) which jumped out and GEN SET (K Treble).
KALINGA JOY (M Rice) jumped away awkwardly.
TELEKINESES (B Thomson) and TAPINI GIRL (C Spry) brushed on jumping.
Approaching the 600 metres the saddle on TAPINI GIRL slipped placing jockey C Spry at a disadvantage for the remainder of the event.
KALINGA JOY (M Rice) and KALINGA HONEY (R McMahon) raced wide rounding the home turn.
On return to scale jockey C Spry was dislodged from TAPINI GIRL and suffered a harmless fall.
Jockey B Pengelly was fined the sum of $200 under AR 145 for weighing in 1/2kg overweight on 1st placed LASTING LUCK.
Race 4: KEN HICKS & ASSOCIATES CLASS 1 HANDICAP - 1300m.
1st - VICARAGE GATE 2nd - TAT FOR TAT 3rd - JANDO 4th - MR CHEWY
TAT FOR TAT (J Byrne) was slow to begin.
Approaching the 800 metres JANDO (D Griffin) became awkward and rolled in brushing MR CHEWY (J Bowditch).
Rounding the home turn and again on straightening VICARAGE GATE (B Pengelly) rolled out and brushed BLOOMIN PERFECT (M Morris).
TAT FOR TAT (J Byrne) was momentarily held up for clear running approaching the 200 metres.
BLOOMIN PERFECT (M Morris) was forced to race wide for the entire event.
Race 5: TELSTRA COUNTRY WIDE CLASSIC CLASS 1 HANDICAP - 1100m.
1st - BLOOMIN LOVELY 2nd - DREAMING OF GLORY 3rd - DIAMONESQUE 4th - AKERS
CLANG GOES THEBELL (B El-issa) and EASY RECEIPT (K Pope) were both slow to begin and made contact at the start.
Approaching the 800 metres CLANG GOES THEBELL (B El-issa) had to be steadied from the heels of MASQUERADING (J Bowditch). CLANG GOES THEBELL then commenced to race awkwardly and became unbalanced for a few strides.
At the same point THE BACK DOOR (M Price) had to be steadied from the heels of DIAMONESQUE (R McMahon) which moved in.
Trainer G Kennedy reported that DREAMING OF GLORY had received a laceration to the near side front tendon during the running of the event.
A post race Veterinary examination of EASY RECEIPT which raced disappointingly failed to reveal any abnormality.
A post race Veterinary examination of CLANG GOES THEBELL revealed the mare to be lame in the off hind.
Race 6: ARCHER GOWLAND STAKES CLASS 4 HANDICAP - 1400m.
1st - SMALL PLANET 2nd - WAIKATO 3rd - PICK OF PICKS 4th - PARTRIDGE
CALL ME VICTOR was declared a late scratching at 9.05am. Trainer K Schweida's explanation was accepted and Stewards took no action on compassionate grounds.
CHARLIE GUN was declared a late scratching at 12.32pm by order of the Stewards due to an accident in transit.
No racing incidents.
Race 7: HYNES LAWYERS OPEN HANDICAP - 1200m.
1st - FOREVER AMEN 2nd - TRIPLE PE 3rd - BOLD AUSBRED 4th - SAMMY
At the start MY CHINESE KING (D Griffin), QUESADILLA (K Wharton) and JUST AWE (J Byrne) were all cramped for room between SAMMY (B El-issa) which jumped in and FOREVER AMEN (M Price) which jumped out.
Shortly after the start KID TREASURE (S Drake) got its head in the air and became awkward for a short distance.
Approaching the 600 metres SILVER GHOST (R McMahon) got its head in the air
and lost ground when racing greenly.
Rounding the home turn BOLD AUSBRED (D Evans) had to be eased from the heels of the tiring SILVER GHOST (R McMahon).
A Veterinary examination of STICKS 'N' STONES failed to reveal any abnormality.
Race 8: RESORT NEWS CLASS 2 HANDICAP - 1600m.
1st - CHARGE D'AFFAIRES 2nd - GREAT MARC 3rd - SCUTT 4th - KEEZADAN
BLACKBETTYBAMBALAM (M Morris) was slow to begin.
GREAT MARC (P Wolfgram) moved in and brushed the fence at the 1200 metres and again at the 600 metres.
Approaching the 800 metres BLACKBETTYBAMBALAM (M Morris) brushed the fence.
L Deguara rider of KEEZADAN was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under AR 137(a) in that aproaching the 200 metres she permitted her mount to shift in taking GREAT MARC (P Wolfgram) in on to TOOLEBUC (L Appo) resulting in TOOLEBUC having to be checked and lose ground.
L Deguara was suspended for a period of 7 meetings to commence at midnight on Monday 24th October 2005 and to expire at midnight on Thursday 3rd November 2005.
A post race Veterinary examination of THE COUTES WAY failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
